Through the fence ·· This used to be called the Lincoln Park Zoo Rookery when I was a kid. It was my favorite place to play. Now it's called the Calder Lily Pond. It's a bird sanctuary and so you'll often find ornithologists or bird watchers here year round.
No respect! My assistant is clearly working real hard. The office facelift is coming along nicely. I’m excited to show it off! Stay tuned for the reveal.

2.24.18. Feeling refreshed ✨💕 Every so often, the monotony of life gets to me and I overthink things that I shouldn’t. I’m grateful for being able to spend time in good company + to attend classes that nourish and refresh the soul 💓 I loved everything about tonight’s lecture at Ta’leef and here is some of what I took home 😌
The lecture was about “zuhud,” renouncing worldly pleasures in order to gain nearness to God. These worldly pleasures to renounce are those that distract from our remembrance of God and, when loved, are the root of harm. When one doesn’t love what distracts from God, peace in all places can come naturally.
The value of this world is in the good deeds we can do to become nearer to God and in our love of Him. Completing our duties made obligatory by God draws us closer to Him. The duty of worship, duty to our families, our friends, our community, and duty to all the creations of God. In attaining this nearness, everything in life is seen as a reflection of God + His attributes and one can experience tranquility 🎀
