🌸🌸 GIVEAWAY GIVEAWAY🌸🌸 I’ve teamed up with my lovely friend @emmahardicker who just so happens to be the amazing artist of this beautiful print above my bath. It’s a little celebration of my completed bathroom renovation and her return to Printmaking and Designing after maternity leave. Watch this space for prize info and how to be in with a chance of winning! 💕💙Oh and P.S today was the first day I took a step back in this room and thought 'Yep, it was ALLLLL worth it!' 💙💕
I was planning on a day trip today, since I had the day off work, but everything is iced over so I’m having a day in! Which includes a new book I just ordered, pizza, a documentary about writers of romance novels, and looking through a 1963 year book from an Independence high school I picked up at the Goodwill Outlet. 💖
DAY 20 • SOFA SO GOOD • These Robin Day designed sofas were one of our first big purchases when we moved in together. Designed in the sixties and one of a series of re-editions for Habitat, they are now only available second hand. I would love a couple of the armchairs and matching coffee table too but will have to source on eBay now 💛
B E || Be Happy. Be Bright. Be You. || One of the best signs of simply being is to see that you are living your best life....your blessed life. || One way I’ve learned to live at my fullest potential, is recognizing the power of my words. || What you say you will convey. || Speak your life into existence. || Sit back and take a look at your place in life right now, at this very moment. || We are exactly where we are because of the words we spoke over ourselves, the thoughts we have of ourselves, and the actions we’ve taken for and against ourselves. || We all have the ability to manifest the life we want to live. || Manifest your life || While manifesting:
1. Always stay positive
2. Say it like it’s already done
3. Do not spend time thinking about anything opposite to what you want
4. Meditate on what you want
5. See it, smell it, feel it, hear it
6. If it’s real in your brain, it will be real in the physical
Sitting in a space and reflecting on your position in life, then realizing that you spoke your position into reality, is one of the highest stages of being. #be#tgbtg#destinychaser#fearlessfaith

I woke up excited that progress would be made on the house today. Alas, our new stairs got as far as on top of our other stairs, before they were taken away. The builders realised they couldn’t get them into the room they needed to be in without dismantling the top banister and spindles of the current staircase, something I really wasn’t happy about. After expressing my views that they could go ahead on the condition that the old staircase look exactly the same afterwards, they seemed reluctant. So the stairs have gone back to the workshop to be altered into a staircase that can be assembled in situ... which isn’t entirely the worst thing as the staircase they brought wasn’t even the design we asked for! So we should get the design we asked for this way, and it will even make it into the room it’s meant to be in! It’s just going to (unfairly) cost us more money, and (annoyingly) take more time before we can create a nursery for Darby. She’s going to be moving out before she moves bedrooms at this rate 😂

When we bought this house, I was excited for the kitchen but wasn’t exactly in love with the color combo or the granite & the garden window needed some help.
We decided not to spend the money on a new garden window but instead we put in a new vinyl window & took out the granite backsplash and replaced it with some inexpensive subway tile to update the kitchen until we are able to remodel it completely.
It has toned down the color combo and also brightened up the space. Such a nice change!

Linen Closet Magic
Before and After
SWIPE ⬅️⬅️ ▫️We stored away items that were needed only occasionally such as sleeping bags. ▫️Sheets with holes were turned into rags and old bleached out towels were donated to the pets in the household. ▫️We then organized shelves according to bed size: king, Queen, Twin. ▫️We used a table to fold linens which made the process (and linens) much smoother.
The best part of the day spent tackling the Ivy again and it is now defeated!! Makes such a difference to the light in both ours and our neighbours garden and makes both look and feel bigger. Just need a skip for all the waste now. ▶️▶️▶️ for before. #victorianhouse#victorianterrace#victorianrenovation
Stop for a minute and just imagine waking up in the beauty of this room. The bed is soft and warm. The sunshine is just peeking in through the windows and you feel like you’d never leave this space. Isn’t Sandra @oldsilvershed amazing? Ya I thought so to. #onetofollow#capecodliving

Did you read our new blog post on how to make these hoop wreaths? My mom is creating things for a craft fair this spring so I’m putting my favorite crafts on the blog these next few weeks. What makes me chuckle is that Mom was like living with Martha Stewart but without the criminal record. I was thinking, what am I doing showing her some of the latest trends in DIY projects? It’s probably because she works to much. If you want to keep up with our latest, you can sign up for our once a week email on the blog. Ok now I’ll get off my sales pitch and wish y’all a wonderful weekend. #tutorials#diycrafts
