Hey fellow dog owners! It’s the weekend and I’ve got tea brewed and ready, and I want to hear from you!
What are some of the unspoken, unglamorous parts of dog ownership that our social media images/videos fail to show? I love connecting with everyone on here because I’ve met some truly amazing people, but I also feel like social media is a very misleading platform. People only ever see dog ownership through rose-colored social media glasses.
I’ll start with some of our actual experiences:
1. Enduring walks in the rain/snow/sub-zero frigid conditions. Rain or shine, or if you have a cold, that pupper needs his walk.
2. Dealing with poo butt.
3. Catching vomit with your bare hands at 2 AM.
4. Being ready, both with your time AND money, to weather any medical issues. Yesterday, I had to leave work early to take him to the vet. He’s fine, just had some conjunctivitis in an eye. But the one visit cost $180. Money is often the elephant in the room when it comes to pet ownership, but so important to keep in mind!
5. Washing squished slug juice off your dog’s giant marshmallow paws.
I can keep going but I’d love to hear your stories!
