I feel like I’ve missed a lot having been stuck inside for the last 3 weeks but things are finally starting to look up!
I’m still having some lingering neurological side effects from the initial migraine, which is exhausting and frustrating.
This has been the weirdest and most horrifying thing I have ever experienced in my life.
Thank you so much guys for continuing to check in.
I’m not sure when I’ll be back lifting but I know the iron will be there. Until then, I can just live through you guys!
My friend @ross_rts just reminded me that even though it’s hard to see right now, there is something positive to take from this.
Getting a second opinion next week with hopefully some answers and relief!
Todays Feature Friday is one of our newest ambassadors in the state of New York. This is Koren, a woman who hikes who has been a part of our community since our Facebook groups were created. Since becoming a member she has led hikes and met up with several of the women who make up the Northeast region of @WomenWhoHike. We are thrilled to introduce her to you, the #womenwhohike community and can’t wait for you all to join her on a hike. Here is more about Koren:
Name: Koren Sloan, @koffeeandkairns
Region: New York/Northeast
Most Proud Hiking Accomplishment: Completing The Great Range Traverse in one day with a group of women who didn't all know each other beforehand. To do something that intense together and manage to come out as friends was quite the accomplishment. It was also the most I have ever pushed myself in one day and I was very proud of my body for getting me through it!
Favorite Hike Or Place You Have Visited: This is a tough question! I'm tempted to say some of the places I've been out west because they feel so unreal and so different from what I'm used to but I really love Mount Marcy in NY. Of all the high points I have done thus far the summit of that mountain has been my favorite. It's not the most spectacular hike but the views and remoteness of the summit are just outstanding. I also love the Adirondacks and the whole vibe of the towns there.
Passions Outside Of Hiking: I'm a huge fan of personal development and reading. I also have my own business and spend a lot of time networking with entrepreneurs. Through that I've discovered that I absolutely love to hear people talk and teach about things they are passionate about, it's inspiring in so many ways. I also love animals and coffee :)
What I Love About The Women Who Hike Community: I've made some life long friends already in the short time I've been involved with this community. It's incredible to be around like minded women and to focus on something positive and fun!
Why I'm Excited About Being A Women Who Hike Ambassador: To help women connect with one another, push themselves, and explore new places! I love to meet new people and I cannot wait to hear all of their stories!
“Ladies and gentleman, can I please have your attention! I have been handed an urgent and horrifying news story. I need you all to stop what you’re doing and listen. CANNONBALL!!!” ~ Ron Burgundy, Anchorman (2004)
