Stop ruining our parks! #leavenotrace
Every park I go to, I see people ignoring signs, jumping barriers, and destroying our parks one step, one piece of garbage, one souvenir at a time. .
This is Haleakalā National Park. The land is sacred and the plants endangered. Your Instagram photo IS NOT worth the irreversible damage you’re doing to endemic plants. This guy’s foot is in an endangered shrub and then the two switched spots, trampling the grasses in the area as they posed for the perfect photo. This is an unacceptable risk to themselves and to the ecosystem within the park. One foot print won’t do it everyone did stupid things like this, there wouldn’t be a park to enjoy. .
The railings are there to protect you and the environment. If you are dense enough to hop them, please be careful to not tread on any native plants and, if you do slip and fall, please be sure not to damage any natural structures or harm any plants when you slam into the ground. Thanks.
