And like that it was the weekend...!! 🙌🏽 we know how to live on a Friday night... Mats doing his tax expenses and I’m painting the downstairs loo 😩😂 hopefully be able to fit in some stranger things!
Also, miracles do happen... Mats put up the picture I got from @homesense_ukie the other week. I’ve not approached the subject with him yet, but I want it lower 😩😂 have a lovely evening everyone 😘 #myfabhome
Big fan of #baskets for #storage in this house...shoes, bags and toys....particularly as the toy stash is increasing by the second. They’re a great way to make the place appear tidy (and halfway stylish) in a flash. Easy access and easy away. Chuck it all in. This one hiding under the table is from @tkmaxx ...they usually have a great selection at bargain prices. #stylishstorage
FLOOR PLANS ~ A Floor Plan is a birds-eye view drawing of the layout of your proposed home (a drawing which has been measured and drawn to scale).
Floor plans are important as it shows the relationship between rooms and spaces and lets me visualise how I will move through the proposed home.
The sort of information you can glean from a Floor Plan are:-
1. The use of all rooms including their names, size, fixture positions and size
2. The furniture layout to visualise how it fits
3. The external wall dimensions of your home
4. The dimensions of hallways, door openings, room sizes, cupboards
5. The type, position, thickness and width of windows eg. double-hung, sliding, winders
6. The doors and windows numbered in sequential order showing its position and the angle it swings
7. The plumbing fixtures and their positions eg. sinks, toilets, showers, baths, taps
8. The external stormwater downpipe locations
9. The dimensions of proposed lower roofs or decks
10. The positioning and diameter of columns
When I first started owner-building, I would always use my current home as the life-size template, pull the tape measure out and start measuring to see how big the bedroom on the floor plan is - so I could get a feel for what the architectural drawings meant.
Like 3.5 m x 3.2 m – I’m sorry but that is not what I would classify a decent size for a bedroom.
Eventually, you start to feel what is right – in terms of dimensions and sizes – and you can start making some educated decisions. 🤷🏻♀️
While large kitchens are all the rage, I always come back to this simple, cozy one. What more do you need than warm herringbone floors, simple design, dark cabinets, and beautiful range balanced with natural light and airy countertops? It’s got everything to assemble meals without fuss. Assembling = the art of tossing random meals together for your own pleasure and satisfaction. 🤣 • photo by @pelle______ (please let me know if you know the designer so I can credit!) #talifewithease#cookingwithease#trèsaméricain
