My little love, Hennessy Ray, was diagnosed with small cell lymphoma almost 2 years ago. While the course of her cancer has been trying on both of us with trial of different treatments, it allowed me to spend 2 more years with her despite some really low lows and some amazing highs. Up until a couple weeks ago she was the cat I had adopted years go... Chasing lizards, playing laser, and chatting all day. Unfortunately, a number of months ago her small cell lymphoma transitioned to the more aggressive large cell lymphoma and I knew our time was limited, but some how she continued to fight and love life being the energetic kitty she had always been. But now, we think the cancer has moved to her liver and her days are numbered... I'm heartbroken 💔. I adopted Hen back in 2008 when I was living and cooking in Chicago. I was lonely moving to a big city without knowing anyone or anything. I adopted her from @pawschicago and she was a beautiful, 4 year old calico with the original name of Tootie. After a few months in Chicago I got a job offer back in San Francisco. Hen and I made the 2,150 mile trek in a u-haul with all of my belongings to follow my dreams. During my time in SF I wasn't making enough money to stay in my apartment and was forced to move into the hotel where I was working for more affordable rent. But unfortunately I wasn't able to keep Hen with me so she lived with my mom with a couple of months. A few months later in Spring of 2009 when my restaurant decided to close I moved back home and decided to go back to school to become a registered dietitian. Anyone who has been through the process of becoming and RD understands the stress. I was juggling working as a diet clerk, tutoring English, classes, homework, and volunteering. She always provided stress relief at the end of the day and always knew when I needed to cuddle. While our time together has been short (only a little over 6 years) we have a incredible bond. But if that wasn't enough globetrotting made one final move to where we have been for the past year and half in Walnut Creek with my BF.
