This weekend I chopped veggies for both stir fry and fajitas. I made packets for veggies and hummus. I sliced fruit. I tried a new pumpkin oat recipe that was a major #crockpotfail .
You win some and you lose some (but eat the sloppy mess anyways because it’s semi edible, healthy and already made). Trying new things isn’t always going to go according to plan. But you re-adjust. You learn. Being prepared and doing some things ahead of time saved me SO much time this week!! One bad recipe attempt and switching around a meal or two isn’t going to throw the whole week off. HEALTHY and LIFE don’t have to be enemies. It doesn’t have to be that complicated. They can and DO co-exist well👯♀️😘👍🏻
Goodness there’s a lot of food on this nutrition plan!! I’m so not use to eating this much but I’m sure I’ll get use to it and bonus-I don’t have to worry about gaining weight😊 just lean muscle.
I had to get creative with dinner as my son turned 30 today and his request was Kraut burgers. Well that involves dough so this momma had to put her meat mixture on a whole wheat tortilla and made a kraut burger wrap instead! The boys of course had the traditional one! Delicious!
Love trying new things! Sometimes you just have to experiment!

Grilled Chicken vs Whey Protein Powder 🍗
-So I was with a client recently and they were telling me about how they'd invested in some whey protein powder.
🤔She eventually asked me - "So if I start drinking a shake after my session instead of chicken, am I going to start getting muscly."
🤦♂️You can see what motivated this post.
‼️Here's the thing. Protein shakes aren’t necessarily better or worse then whole food sources. The benefit of shakes is that they are convenient, they are usually low in carbs & fats and they are priced a lot cheaper than most lean protein sources when you compare them gram for gram.
🤔For some reason though people have it in their head that protein shakes are some magic muscle builder. Wrong.
🍗This photo compares the calories and protein of a standard chicken breast & 40g of whey protein. The only difference in eating 30g of protein from a chicken breast and drinking 30g from a shake is how long it takes you to eat and digest it. But the end result is the same.
❓So are protein shakes necessary? Absolutely not.
❓Will they make you big and muscly? No they won't.
❓But are they convenient and more affordable than constantly buying lean meats? Definitely.
🏆My verdict: Take protein shakes for the convenience, or because you’re struggling to hit your protein intake, or because you wanna look cool walking out of the gym shaking your protein around for everyone to see. But not because you think they’re going to magically produce gains.
✅Also be sure to incorporate plenty of whole food sources to ensure a balanced diet and to make sure you are getting enough micronutrients and fiber.

🌰Masker Bawang Bombay Bisa Mengatasi Rambut Rontok, Apa Benar?🌰 .
Sebuah studi kecil yang dipublikasikan dalam Journal of Dermatology melaporkan bahwa mengoleskan jus bawang bombay sebagai masker tepat ke kulit kepala 2xi sehari secara teratur selama dua minggu bisa membantu pertumbuhan rambut. Khasiat ini terutama paling dirasa nyata pada beberapa orang yang memiliki alopecia areata / kebotakan di beberapa titik kepala.
Para peserta dalam penelitian ini diketahui mengalami peningkatan pertumbuhan rambut sebanyak 74 persen setelah 4 minggu menggunakan masker bawang bombay. Pada minggu ke 6, pertumbuhan rambut para peserta meningkat menjadi sekitar 87 persen. Pertumbuhan rambut dalam penelitian ini umumnya lebih optimal pada pria dibanding wanita.
Meski hasil penelitian ini mendapatkan hasil yang positif, namun masih diperlukan penelitian dalam skala besar untuk memastikan efektivitas penggunaan jus bawang bombay dalam mengatasi rambut rontok.
Penelitian di atas melanjutkan, ada beberapa kandungan senyawa dalam bawang bombay yang bisa memperkuat dan mendorong pertumbuhan rambut kepala. Berikut penjelasan
1. Kaya akan sulfur
Bawang kaya akan kandungan senyawa sulfur (belerang) yang bisa mencegah kerontokan & meningkatkan pertumbuhan rambut yang kuat, lebat, & sehat. Pasalnya, asupan sulfur pada akar-akar rambut dapat meningkatkan produksi kolagen, sebuah protein yang penting untuk meningkatkan produksi sel kulit sehat & pertumbuhan rambut
2. Memiliki sifat antibakteri
Bawang memiliki sifat antibakteri yang dapat membantu melawan infeksi kulit kepala. Dalam beberapa kasus, infeksi kulit kepala dapat menyebabkan rambut rontok
3. Mengandung antioksidan
Bawang mengandung antioksidan, seperti flavonoid. Antioksidan dipercaya bisa melindungi tubuh dari radikal bebas. Selain bisa mempercepat proses penuan, radikal bebas juga bisa merusak folikel rambut dan menyebabkan penipisan kerontokan rambut
Parsnips & carrots were some of the veggies I roasted tonight. I forgot how delicious parsnips are! I try to vary the veggies I make weekly because every vegetable has different vitamins and minerals. Try to eat the color of the rainbow 🌈 and switch it up to get the most nutritional value out of what you eat.
Parsnips, peeled and cut
Carrots, peeled and cut
Avocado 🥑 oil
Garlic, minced fine
1.) Toss parsnips and carrots in oil, just lightly coat.
2.) Bake at 350°F for 30 minutes (flip halfway through). 3.) Remove from oven and toss parsnips and carrots in a bowl with dill and garlic, put back in oven for 5 more minutes.

Sedikit cerita ya guys... Kemarin, salah satu temen aku antri untuk MRI. Sambil tunggu prosesnya, kita ngobrol2 sama dokternya .
Beliau bilang sekarang banyak banget anak muda yang sudah potensial stroke. Kenapa? Karena pola hidup kita sudah berubah ke bule bule an 😱
Kita ga lagi makan sayur, buah. Pengennya makan burger, pizza, junk food. Minuman2 juga makin bervariatif, sebagian besarnya mengandung gula yang banyak banget (terutama minuman kaleng) 😰
Ditambah lagi, kita makin sibuk, lupa untuk berolahraga. Biasanya pengen weekend aja deh olahraga, terus sudah weekend tapi mager 🤭
Jadi kunci hidup sehat, perbanyak makan buah dan sayuran. Kurangi konsumsi gula. Dan olahraga rutin 👌🏼 Kalo pengen burger atau pizza atau junk food gmn? Bisa mulai dari makan sebulan sekali aja, terus jadi 2 bulan sekali, dst
Kalo meeting kan aku di coffee shop kak? Kita juga kok. Bisa pesen air putih atau black coffee/latte no sugar 😆

I think the only thing not tested were my dancing skills during the little breaks!
I got a really good idea of all the areas I can improve upon and instead of saying I suck? I’m not goi. To show up tomorrow I have a target set to improve upon.
I know we expect motivation to show up out of thin air but the fact of the matter is we create motivation in our life by Taking action and accepting the challenges in life.
So if you want motivation show up, take the hard road, know it will be hard but pull your big girl panties up and say let’s do this shit! And when round two comes, ask “how can I do it better?”

Easy salmon, avocado, and quinoa lunch 👌🏻 Finally having salmon not out of a Tupperware and I'm pretty happy about it 😎 It tastes good in a packed lunch but nothing beats having it hot off the skillet 😍 I spent to morning packing and needed a quick lunch because I was starving 😅 Packing really took it out of me 😂 I used ready to eat quinoa from @cucinaandamore but I didn't stir in all the pesto that comes with it because I think a little bit goes a long way 👌🏻 Then broiled up some tomatoes and made 6 minute salmon to round out the plate 😋 Was still hungry after eating it so I had an @squareorganics bar too 😏 Gotta do you! Kicked off my first morning back at school with a bowl of oats before heading to the rec 😍 Bitter sweet coming back but I’m ready to start off second semester strong 💪🏼 •
Bowl dets ⏩ 1/2 cup @bobsredmill rolled oats, cinnamon, 1/2 cup unsweetened almond/coconut milk mix, 1/2 water, 1 scoop of @nuzest_usa smooth vanilla, and 1 tsp hemp seeds then microwave for 3 minutes stirring halfway through! I topped my oats with banana slices, @georgiagrinders almond buttaaa, pumpkin seeds, and more cinnamon 🙌🏼 Great pre workout meal~ not complaining about the pool of almond butter either 💯 Happy Monday and go hawks💛(peep the Hawkeye slippers😂)
