We said goodbye to this beautiful place over the weekend. To the gulf coast, to the first home we ever owned, to the city in which our daughter was born, to the place where, in many ways, our faith was renewed. We sorted and packed and swept and mopped and hugged and waved “so long”. Our bodies may be bumped and bruised from the moving, but our hearts are so full of gratitude and hope.
Grateful for the time we lived here. For the people we met here. For the ways in which we grew here.
Hopeful for our future in California. For the life we will live there. For the people we will meet, the ones we know, and the ones who will visit us there. For the ways in which we will grow there.
Grateful for the way in which things have fallen so seamlessly into place during this transition. Jobs and cars and a great offer on our home (in less than 24 hours!) and the kindest people to help us with this cross-country move.
Hopeful that we can finalize the offer on our home. Hopeful that we can find a new place to call home.
Grateful for the chapter that we are about to close, and hopeful for the one that we have just begun to write, knowing, as always, that so long as we’re together, the best is (still) yet to come. #thebrownsgowest
