Day 10 - Our last day on the road until we meet this caravan in Mulegé on Feb 14 to begin our 5 day journey north to the border. We encountered fog early in the morning, then road construction north of La Paz. We arrived at our camp, Playa Norte RV Park in Los Barriles, BCS. After we got them settled in John & I got in the road to get back to the USA to pickup our next caravan on Jan. 28. #bajawinters#gorving#rvlife#lapazbcs#losbarriles#kiteboarding

I can't help myself. Like some doting mother. I leap from the truck each time I see a dramatic vista to capture our home in yet another breathtaking environment.⠀
I may also be a little out of breath due to running back and forth at a high altitude.
It's fffreezing in Florida! We took this photo in Cedar Key at the weekend. The pelican on the left has the right idea.

It's been one whole year since we left and NYC and moved into our Airstream travel trailer 💫🌎 I can't believe how quickly the time has flown by and at the same time it somehow feels like we've lived here for so much longer than just one year. We've already found land on which to build our first home and we're now in the design phase getting ready to apply for building permits. It's crazy how fast life changes but I'm so grateful to be having this experience of life in a tiny metal home on wheels with my partner and our bunny (shown here in her pet stroller). 🐰
Also, I just wrote a post on my blog about paradoxes and how life is beautifully illogical 🌸🙃 Check it out if you need a reminder that everything is perfectly imperfect 🌀
We went to @pointreyesnps last week and it was spectacular. However, this picture doesn't show the "2 hour" drive that was actually a 5 hour trip. It doesn't show the ~7 wrong turns. It doesn't show the almost two year old who finally fell asleep 20 minutes before arrival and it doesn't show the 1 hour detour we took on the way back because we still couldn't get our act together in the dark and go home the right way. We will look back, tell the kids and laugh. #kindaworthit#lifesabeach#wetriedtho#pointreyesnationalseashore#goldenhourlight#adventurekids

here’s a little bit of #truthfultuesday for ya! we are carefully navigating our IG and trying to keep it positive and an encouragement but we realize that sometimes it can come across as perfect or like we don’t have any struggles.
and that couldn’t be further from the truth!! If you ask me on any given rainy day how I am feeling about living in a tiny space my response won’t be so positive!
we’ve had leaks in the roof, unexpectedly spent thousands of dollars on repairs, lost friends and cried lots of tears but if you can learn anything from us, it’s this...
don’t give up. any goal can be achieved. any amount of money can be saved. any person can be transformed. It just takes some perseverance to get there!
When we moved into the airstream I was pretty worried about cooking in such a small kitchen. Hmmm... Mac&cheese and peas anyone? Even though we still have some of those nights, I’ve found that I really enjoy prepping meals in a tiny space. It’s exciting to see how much flavor I can pack into a one pot meal, and how much food i can organize into our tiny fridge.... like a fun new challenge! Im weird, but seriously my husband isn’t allowed to put away the groceries 🙄... all that Tetris Nintendo paid off.
Everything is within arms reach, the clean up is easier, our grocery bill has decreased dramatically since we aren’t stocking a huge fridge and pantry, and our food waste is very little (nearly none). It’s a win, win, win, win... well let’s just say I’m winning!
As you know, I am headed south and am looking forward to warmer weather. However, buslife is about going with the flow. So when it starts to snow in West Virginia, you pull the bus over, crank up the heat, read a book, and wait out the storm.

a lot of people assume that we must LOVE getting to stay in a “real” home for the holidays...but it’s actually not totally the case! Yes, the house is a blessing to stay in but there are so many things about our bus that we miss!
beyond the obvious...the fact that it is “our” space...cleaning 250 sq ft is NOTHING compared to a normal sized house! It takes the family 30 mins to pic up our whole bus versus a few hours getting a home nice and clean...I feel like I can’t keep up! 🤦🏻♀️

Our drive into Big Bend NP was #amazing We have never seen mountains look like this. 😍
She had never known that ice could take on so many shades of blue: sharp lines of indigo like the deepest sea, aquamarine shadows, even the glint of blue-green where the sun struck just so.- Malinda Lo
