Fitness of the week: -being slightly more than mediocre at Volleyball
-being terrible at handstands on an incline
-killin the game at being a mermaid.
Whoever says you can't do fitness on vacation has never gotten up on a fountain in the middle of a pool filled with people relaxing 🤗

Calling all mermaids! Our Deep Sea bodysuit is still available and looks amazing under blazers and paired with skirts 😍
Some not so terrible rack pulls. Switched things up a but and it’s pushing me. Hip update: Generally things have improved. I’m stiff and pain is almost the new normal, but it’s bearable and vastly improved and I’m learning what causes flare ups. Gotta be patient and listen to ma boday.
Making light weight feel heavy today + a bunch of accessories. The last few months have been pretty horrible on a personal level tbh, and I’m glad I have begun the journey back to what I love which is PL and being fully present for my personal training and massage clients. Lesson learned. If you’ve had an eating disorder or 20, trying to achieve the “perfect” body whatever that means might not be for you. Everything is an experience, and I learned my heart is with strength. Grateful that I have friends who recognize when things are too reminiscent of my illness and get me back on track. Here’s to doing what you love and also keeping it real. @mattressrob RIP but pretty? #squat#squats#powerlift#powerlifting#girlswholift#girlswhopowerlift#gwpl#liftheavy#tempo#pauz#lift#lifting#cpt#lmt#gymthings#lifethings
A little #throwbackthursday action featuring me this week!
Lots of consistency, trial and error, learning, good nutrition, eating real food, heavy lifting, and plenty of setbacks between these 2 pictures 🏋🍏 My cookie recipe will be posted tomorrow AND an update on my NY18 challengers will come this weekend so stay tuned!

Week 5 is looking good for PR's and rep PR's! 315 for 2 singles! Finally joined the 3 plate club for my squats! 🙌Pause squats 285 2x1. And front squat from Monday hitting a nice PR! 225 2x2! Goodbye week 5, hello week 4! @wongstwong#BOTB4#girlswhopowerlift#powerlifting#squats
What have I been doing for squats? 🤔
A while ago I watched a video by @carrichey where he described a squatting routine he was using that he created himself. It involves squatting every 2-3 days.
Day 1 is a heavy day. You can build to a heavy 5x5, 6x4, heavy triple, double, single you get the picture.
Day 2 is a pause squat focus. No rebound at the bottom. Just a focus on strength out of the hole.
Day 3 is for speed. Squats usually at 50%,60% or 70% with sets of 6,8,10.
So far it’s been working pretty well. I’ve lost a lot of leg strength in the last year so it’s been exciting to see my numbers creep up again little by little. My schedule for squats isn’t set in stone. If I’m not feeling up to it I’ll wait another day. If I’m feeling great then I take advantage of that and squat. 🤗🤗🤗
Back to my regularly scheduled programming! Whenever I feel an unusual amount of stress in my back while working legs, I know it means I’m not properly activating my glutes. In order to combat that I’ll try to add my @mbslingshot band into as many exercises as possible. It forces that glute activation. Here’s an example: these goblet squats are at the end of my toughest leg day, which means I often struggle with glute activation because I’m fatigued. Adding the band transforms this exercise for me (and protects my back). So if you struggle to activate your glutes in an exercise, try adding a band for a few sets and see how it changes it for you. And please enjoy my struggle face in the forward facing video!
Feeling really good about my programming so far. Coming out of the emotional battle that was 2017, powerlifting has really helped me stay focused not only in the gym but in the day to day. I’m currently at my highest bw but I feel damn good and I can’t wait to see how my body and strength are going to change in the next few months/years 💪🏻😊
Every time I hit a new PR I’m happy, wanna dance, do cartwheels and just jump around! 💃🏻🏋🏻♀️🤸🏻♀️But on the outside my body is out of breath and needs a break lol 😅😵
5/5/5: 135lbs x 6reps x 2sets
My last set was 135lb for five or more reps. I did six which I was happy with but decided to hit another last set lol. So I surprised my self with 2 sets of 6 reps! I was SO HAPPY! 🤗💪🏼

This is huge for me to post these pictures. My midsection has always been the last to catch up to my progress but if I think about it it’s also endured the most abuse. From an insane amount of weight gain, to stretching to its max on top of that when I carried my babies, it’s been through a lot. Am I lean? Not yet. But this is my current state. But I’m damn proud of where I am and where I’m going.
Loose skin has always been a concern of mine. I’m sure I will have some once I get rid of the fat underneath. But it’s a hell of a lot better than being who I was on the left. Will I get surgery to remove it? I’m not going to say never because I always said I would NEVER lose the weight and that I would NEVER be able to do things that I can easily do now. I’ll have to see where I’m at when I get there.
Social media is so full of fake people. People who use filters, posing and photoshop to portray their “perfect” image. And we tend to compare our bodies and progress to them. And if we don’t look like them we feel like failures. There’s not one person I want to look like. My favorite part of this journey has been creating MY body. That mindset has taken a long time for me to change into.
So my reason for this post and baring my loose skin, fat pouch and stretch marks? To hopefully give someone the courage to love themselves no matter what. To see that not everyone is perfect. That this is what hides under my AMAZING compression pants and that I AM PROUD of all my hard work and my body.. even if it might not be ideal or attractive to others. ♥️ #onefiterminedmama#bodybyweights#girlswhopowerlift#girlswholift#deadlifts#fit#fitfam#fitmom#fitspo#fatloss#fatlossjourney#strong#strongisthenewskinny#weightloss#weightlifting#weightlossjourney#weightlosstransformation#weightlossmotivation#iifym#thickthighssavelives#AshleyHorner#ashlete#BecomingExtraordinary#CharlieMike#AshleteForLife#alreadystrong#rpstrength

3rd attempt deadlift - 160kg/352.7lbs at 113.5 lbs bw. 🔴⚪️🔴
Although this lift didn’t count, I’m pretty happy with how fast the weight came up compared to the last time i pulled it. 😭
2nd video - 2nd attempt at 152.5kg/336.2lbs ⚪️⚪️⚪️
