“Vilnius, the G-Spot of Europe” 🤔
Since living in Lithuania, I’ve been receiving a ton of DMs asking about what Vilnius is like and if it’s worth visiting 🇱🇹
Well, there’s officially a new post up on the blog where I address the above statement that was made in a recently released Lithuanian tourism poster, and what Vilnius is like from a travellers’ perspective 💻
Check it out to see if the hype is real and the adventure is there 🙌🏼

Have you been to this Baltic capital? What did you think? 🤷🏼♀️

Beautiful slice of past. This nostalgic Ottoman-style town may have you surprised to learn that it was one of the most heavily bombed cities during the war following the break up of Yugoslavia. Though many visible signs of Mostar’s troubled recent history remain, this formerly war-torn city is one lively and beautiful destination once again.

Why, yes I am! And lately, it’s been a bit bizarre.
As couchsurfers know, it’s hard to simultaneously convince people you’re not a killer while looking for someone who doesn’t have a dark past. It’s times like these that I wish I haven’t watched so many scary movies!
Reminder to self: The majority of people in this world are not stealthy home murderers. (Lovely) So, I’m pressing on with my in-depth couchsurfing profile, which is quickly turning into the most work I’ve ever done to convince the public that I’m a decent person. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
Any seasoned couchsurfers have tips on how to get a yes? I’ll give you a 🍪!

I’ve got a crush on the world 🌎
Why do you travel??? For me,
It’s experiencing new places, new cultures,
To see sights that I wouldn’t see in my hometown. To see sunrise and sunsets from a different place.
To go on adventures with the ones that mean most to me
To meet new people and create new friendships
To be able to tell my kids, nieces and nephews one day all the adventures I went on and offer them my advice
To know myself
Because life is too short
SO this was my last trip to Germany and tomorrow’s trip is going to be different in temperature by about 40 degrees! 😮 no parading around in playsuits getting @jonimunday1 to take my photo! But seriously, I’m really excited to explore a new German city this weekend. It’s my third trip in a year, I’m basically German now. Auf wiedersehen! 🇩🇪

“You have to practice even, maybe especially, when it hurts.”
For most of my life, I’ve been an amateur when it came to reaching my goals. I would only focus on wanting the results without seeing the process it takes to get from point A to B. I had this bad habit of looking at people’s success without paying attention to what they did to get it.
I’ll use Instagram as an example. I used to get SO hung up when one of my posts didn’t do as well as a previous one, & I would give up wanting to post or waste time over-analyzing why it didn’t do as well. I wasn’t looking at the big picture & focusing all my energy on the results of each post.
But when I started to look at everything as a process, & to do things for the love of the process, my mentality & actions changed.
You begin to see that it isn’t about each individual post, but rather the accumulation of all your work. It’s about the portfolio you’re building up. And when you realize this, you start to become less of an amateur, & more of a professional in your field.
One mistake I used to make (& still do sometimes) is waiting for inspiration or clarity to hit before taking action. When in reality, you’ll just spend the rest of your life waiting with this mindset.
The key is to just start, & to practice consistency, because motivation comes from the momentum of getting something started. Professionals have formed the habit to follow through whatever task is at hand, EVEN when they aren’t feeling motivated.
We all want success, but not the struggle of failed attempts. We all want the gold, but not the grind behind it. But next time you feel like you're in a slump, just remember that life is forever a delicate balance compiled of thousands of daily battles & decisions to either continue onwards, or to quit. And this balance is what defines us.
Professionals never wait for a “big break” to happen or wish for overnight success. They delay instant gratification because they’re in it for the long run. And they aren’t in it for their ego, but because they truly believe in their work
Are you an amateur or a professional?
