Gullfoss, 12pm. Photographing in the middle of the day isn’t something I usually do or my favourite time to be out shooting landscapes as the light can be quite harsh. The one thing I enjoyed most about shooting in Iceland was the fact that you can continue to shoot during the middle of the day without the light being too harsh as the sun stays lower in the sky during the colder months. we were supposed to be camping up Apgar tonight, but due to some technical- the ski boots I borrowed didn’t come close to fitting- difficulties, ended up making bison burgers and playing Cranium with the gang. camping would’ve been great, but honestly, I can camp whenever at home. some of my pals out here I might not see again for months, and there’s something important about realizing that. we yelled at each other, argued over rules, laughed a lot. team canada lost. I couldn’t draw pearl jam which might’ve cost us a maple leaf victory. getting home tomorrow, with a whole new ski touring set-up awaiting me, that means my hut season starts now. I’ll be the guy lugging in Catan to a backcountry oasis near you.
