Wardrobe goals. Neat and tidy, a few favourites which are well worn and well loved. I say goals because the truth is closer to a yawning clothes monster! Suki and I have had large and interesting discussions about how much we "need" and the effect shopping has on our brains and the environment.... so. A challenge, dear ones.
Can you say with us that this year you will try: *To plan your wardrobe
*To make wherever possible, using textiles or yarn you have taken the time to know
*Not beat yourself up if you don’t quite meet your goal, but accept that you are on a path to doing the right thing by the environment, producers at all levels, and industry?
*Learn as much as you can about the supply chains in which you participate, find some producers you align with and support them?
*Read the labels of the stuff you own and find out what they really mean?
*If you don't make your on clothes now, begin to learn a skill so that you might be able to in the future?
And we'll be right here to hold your hand, of course! xx Sarah
2018 goal--get my glow on! ✨
I've been playing with the new @Origins Original Skin Cooling Primer and feeling like a glowy goddess! This has been a great new smoothing base prior to applying makeup, but I also have been wearing it when going makeup free (sometimes you want that little 'something' on your skin for a quick morning coffee run or heading to the gym, right?) for a smoothing natural finish.
Origins is kicking off the new Original Skin Cooling Primer and Cleansing Jelly at the opcoming Stoneridge Shopping Center event in Pleasanton, CA on January 18 & 19 from 5-8pm. ✨
Swing by for your own free mini facial, makeup touch-ups, refreshments and gifts! Come get glowy! Show this post at the event and get 10% off your purchase!
It was so fun organizing my food portfolio and sending my friends customized letters using the S pen feature on the Samsung Notebook 9 Pro. Haven’t been so creatively inspired in so long! #SamsungNotebook#SamsungPC#Ad

Today is wassail and we have been celebrating with @lydialotusdesigns. Wassailing is an ancient English custom and is another new discovery for us. Traditionally, cider soaked toast is hung from tree branches, songs are sung, bells rung and shots fired to ward of any evil spirits. And, of course, the trees are given a tipple or two (which will hopefully guarantee a bountiful harvest). Now, we didn't fire shots, or hang cider soaked toast from tree branches, instead we had waffles, spiced apple tea with lemon and orange slices and we decorated the tree branches with moonstones, quartz and the most beautiful hangings.
Happy wassail lovelies! We hope you have had a wonderful day 💞

My mom’s homemade bread, fresh from the oven, is one of the best things on earth, specifically because of a special ingredient she adds that makes it so good! Check out the link in my profile for her recipe!
Join us for our Wood Oven Workshops! 🔥
Learn to properly fire up and use the wood oven for more than just pizza (even though we'll make that too!) Utilizing the oven at three different temperatures we will make; Pizza, Stuffed Lemons or Peppers & Anchovies (Appetizer) and Peposa (Slow Cooked Lamb) or Spezatini (Slow Cooked Stew) which will cook OVERNIGHT! The class will continue the next afternoon for dinner.

Castles of Sintra💛
I've always thought Sintra was just a big park with a couple of castles and that famous well somewhere in the middle..So in my mind I would go there for just half a day, walk around slowly (no vehicles) and just enjoy my time. Now it sounds like smth veeery stupid and funny🙈 because:
🏰Sintra is not flat at all! It's situated on a huge hill (if one can call it like that) and the distances are not that little
🏰There is A LOT to see. Now I think I would need more than 1 day to see it all or at least I'd arrive there earlier 🏰Save 13€ extra for a hop on-hop off bus that goes between sites - less trouble with parking and traffic
🏰Cabo da Roca needs your patience if you go by the hop on/off bus - 2 hours to go there and back😥 🏰In winter Sintra is windy so don't be lazy to take some extra jacket
Add some extra tips if you went there😉Or maybe you're planning to go there?
Sandro 💘 From small kiosk to 4 restaurants in Finland. Two years ago I was lucky to be part of the Rock the Casbah family 💥💥 So many great people I’ve met during that time (among them my soon to be husband) 😘 First student job in a new country, so much to learn and get inspired by! ✨ Big thanks to @richardmccormicks for giving a girl with zero experience a chance ❤️ @sandro_restaurants will be always a big one for me 🙌🏻
When you realize the bday is over but you still find yourself celebrating🍾
Nowhere I rather spend a Wednesday afternoon than @bar_raval.
What's your favourite spot in Toronto? Or in your city? What makes it special? 🍽

I’m loving being back in the kitchen this week (the only upside to my boys being back at school!) They are being completely indulged with lots of sweet treats and I’m trying to throw in some healthier curveball bakes too!! We all love chocolate and this lovely Kladdkaka was so popular, there’s none left! I made it gluten free and piled it high with fresh berries as we feel like we’re missing out so much at the moment in these darker wintry days. My boys were quite indignant that I cut into it before they came home from school, but by the end of the first evening there’s barely any left and after all, what’s a cup of tea without a delicious slice of cake?! 💗 #serendipitybakes#midweekcakelove#hocsupperclub

Here’s another shot of the recent table I made. A classic shaker style table made from oak. Next up - a bed in ash 🛏

ninety percent of my photography (can i even call it that) consists of mucking around until I get the desired effect. I don’t know if this is a conventional way to development, but I’m enjoying it anyhow. I brought the f no. right down for this picture, to introduce the movement (as well as my slightly shaking weak-ass arm), and to produce the depth 🤷🏻♀️
I always loved @nigellalawson for tucking into food with her hands. It’s just so satisfying 🙌🏻

Happily remembering this moment from brunch a few months ago in NYC with my bestie @ohmanda at @nixny - a newish restaurant from Michelin-starred chef John Fraser, drawing on his personal passion for cooking with vegetables. With the belief that eating vegetarian or vegan should feel more celebration than sacrifice.
I'm thankful that the plant based movement has (what feels like) finally picked up in New York. It's unfortunate that the name 'vegan' has such a bad rep, but whoever figured out how to rebrand this concept is a genius. I feel like people are so much more open minded about plant-based eating than eating vegan food. I can't imagine how focusing on a diet more centered around eating plants and not consuming animal products could ever be considered negative, but like all good ideas or movements the real message is often overshadowed by bad people and bad actions.
And yes, I think there are some differences between the two lifestyles - if you're sensitive to it. It's the details that matter. Plant based is more about eating unprocessed plants that are closer to the original source we find in the ground, where vegan is more about living a lifestyle that is free of any products made with animals or animal byproducts.
Either way, I hope we can choose to spread a little more love this year by consuming more plants than our furry and feathered friends.
Also shoutout to a beautifully designed space by @elizabeth_roberts_architecture.

Persians and their gold...I can’t help it. These nesting bowls fit in perfectly around here. ✨ #homedecor
We aren’t your typical #hgtv show where in 55 minutes they remodel an entire house. We’ve had these lights sitting in the garage waiting to be installed for, oh about a year now. But, this week little lights...your space is finally ready!
I’m okay with it taking more time, because there is no rush to making a house a home. It happens slowly, layer upon layer, memory upon memory.
I’ve decided to look at this home as a piece of art. And masterpieces take time 😉 #diy#kitchenremodel#fixerupper#home
Grilled whole John Dory from Looe, served with aioli and chips on tonight - if you can get past its unique looks, it’s one of the loveliest fish you’ll find...🌟

Have you tried chia pudding?
What are your thoughts?
I enjoy the health benefits and like the flavor (I added a few things to mine. You can see the full recipe link in my profile), BUT I don’t know about that texture. Kind of like soaking gummy worms in pudding overnight. 😂😂😂 Am I eating it wrong? Do you mix it with something else like more fruit? 🤣
Help! I really want to love chia pudding! #chiapudding#spiffyeats
Was pulling up some photos from last year and came across this cutie in New Castle, NH. I love the curvy lines of the dormer! Gives it a storybook feel. And the oar above the porch provides a clue that New Castle is in fact a summer destination. It’s a tiny little island just east of Portsmouth, NH, population 968 as of the 2010 Census. #newcastle
Who are your favourite Harry Potter characters? ϟ ⚯͛ △⃒⃘ It recently dawned on me that it’s close to an entire year since I last read a fantasy book... Something that I never thought would happen! So for today’s post I wanted to remind myself of the first books I ever loved and what used to be my ‘go to’ genre. This year I’d like to rekindle the flame that I’ve unintentionally allowed to blow out, starting with the Shades of Magic trilogy and a reread of Lord of the Rings ☾
