We have been talking about ramen all day at work today and I was reminded of this ramen place in Kyoto, where we had the most amazing conversation with the owners, a couple who barely spoke any English! and somehow we were getting their Japanese words and they were getting our English words and we were all laughing the whole time! And in the middle of the conversation, the husband stopped their Japanese music and played some American country music, as soon as he heard we are from LA! It was simple but always tasty; usually he put ham, canned corn, green onions, and eggs in it and seasoned it with soy sauce. I still make fried rice pretty frequently with whatever meats and vegetables are on hand. There is something really comforting about fried rice no matter what’s in it. Keeping things simple with this lunch plate 🌱. I spent the entire day researching a very popular fad diet for my community rotation yesterday, and it made my head spin 🤯. The thought of keeping track of every gram of fat + carb, buying all sorts of supplements, being super restrictive, etc...is that really a way to live? These diets are fads because they often don’t work, or only work in the short term. When you look closely at the research you see how inconclusive it is, how small the studies are, and how none of them look at long term health consequences. Keep it simple + eat real food people!!! Put less focus on your weight + more on your overall health. Letting your weight + diet consume your entire existence isn’t healthy for anyone 🙁. Ok rant over + back to this balanced plate with simple ingredients 😂👉🏼 toasted whole wheat English muffin, 1/2 avocado, micro greens, medium boiled egg, drizzle of olive oil + a sprinkle of @primalpalate breakfast blend. Happy Friday loves 💚💚
With today’s gloomy weather, the only thing I want for this Friday night is to curl up with the coziest pizza ever.
