Don't worry, Luna is a safe driver. She's no tail-gator! 📷 @jewlpapool

Little throwback of me hanging out underwater with some nuisance alligators. These are newly wild caught nuisance gators, as in caught out of people's yards and not raised in captivity or tamed in any way, ones I'd literally never seen before this day, but with a proper understanding of their behavior I am able to handle them calmly in this way. There's no trick or secret, just a proper understanding that comes with experience. Again, these aren't "friendly" gators that are habituated to people like Casper the gator I often post pics close with. Gators are able to understand over time that people aren't a threat and can become extremely calm and habituated, like Casper, to the point where anyone can be around him, such as the VIP tours I run with him! YOU could even come meet him! Just don't ever try this on your own! 😉

Onto Everglades and you guys, this place was UNREAL. Everything we read told us to move slowly here and take the time to appreciate how it’s different from the other parks; there are no show-stopping mountains or vermillion cliffs or giant trees here, but when the pink sunset reflected off the glassy surface of the water, it stopped our breath. We loved it here, hellish mosquitoes notwithstanding, and David found in this place one of his favorite photographic subjects yet (re: prepare to have your feeds inundated with pictures of swamp.) P.S.: if you like photography and pretty things, go follow David 👉🏻 @dabowman ! He posts lots of pictures of the parks, more artsy with less commentary 😊.

I tried chasing a rainbow once.... it didn’t work out very well 😜😂❤️.
My name is Carlton Ward Jr @carltonward — an ILCP fellow who will be posting from the Everglades this week focused on my #pathofthepanther project, which is supported by a storytelling grant from @NatGeo. The team from @grizzlycreekfilms is with me as we work towards making an hour long documentary through a collaboration with ILCP. Please stay tuned for photos and stories as we try to shed light on the Florida panther — the last puma surviving in the eastern US and an ambassador for the @fl_wildcorridor that can help us keep the Everglades from being cut off by development from the rest of America. #panther#everglades#floridawild#keepflwild
