"A picture is worth a thousand words"
Photography has always been one of my hobbies. Like many people, my smartphone has become the camera I use on a day-to-day basis, since it is usually good enough for everyday use and if I'm not looking for top quality photos, I'd prefer leaving my Canon T1i DSLR at home. Recently though, there is a desire to go back to taking more photos with my DSLR again. Kinna miss those days when I'd go out with my DSLR camera on short excursions and just capture anything that I find attractive or aesthetically pleasing. It is no doubt a better way to document my adventures. I also find that I tend to pay more attention to the small things when I'm shooting with the DSLR and there's the extra incentive to get more creative and find interesting angles to take the shots. In general, there are several main things I like about the DSLR:
1) the better image quality.
2) control over the depth of field to create that background blur effect.
3) fast shutter and focus speeds.
4) better sensitivity to light and,
5) ability to change lenses.
Upgrades I got were the Canon 50mm f1.8 prime lens (excellent for portrait photography) and the Sigma 18mm - 250mm f3.5 - f6.3 super zoom lens (excellent for people like me who sometimes get kinna lazy switching lenses lol). Next gear I'm looking to get is an external flash for getting a more balanced exposure in low-light conditions.
