Meet “Churro the Burro” we will be bringing him home later this week! He’s a two year old standard Jack. His mother is a guard donkey on a large cattle ranch in southern AZ. He’s very sweet and fuzzy! 💕 #donkey#donkeysofinstagram#donkeyoftheday#longears
So the fun and games began this afternoon when the Farrier arrived.
The Donkey decided he didn't want to come in for he knew something was happening... and star didn't want go in with goats... more mayhem as one of the goats escaped while we tried to tempt star in with them.
No she wasn't having that!
So tried to move donkey while star was out, barking excitingly.
No way was the donkey having that, he wanted to play... He ran up the old drive... Ran back and passed me, and further up the drive in the other direction.
He wanted me to chase him... I didn't, so I walked up slope to his stable, he quickly followed, I tempted him over to me with his food bucket.. grabbed his lead, meanwhile
star was still barking and running around... So the donkey decided, he still wanted to play and didn't want his feet done...so he pulled the rope out of my hands, and ran around the big terrace playing chase with star...round and round they ran.
We did manage to catch the donkey and he had his feet done, with star quietly watching the procedure. Luckily Tom thought it was all very funny... What an Entertaining life we have donkey chasing!! Mr xister is really getting used to Tom doing his hooves, and no longer needs tying up.

Today, we had the opportunity to share the ranch with some amazing women! Many of these ladies have come out of horrific situations AND many of them were foster children. Stop the cycle before it starts! Watching their joy as they interacted with the animals was such a blessing to be a part of! THIS is why we do it. This place is therapy. These animals are therapeutic. Thank you God for this opportunity! Pictures shared with permission by these amazing women! Please consider donating to help us continue loving on those who need it the most! We are blessed to work with foster children by equine assisted mentoring for those who struggle with emotional issues, PTSD, abuse and other problems. We get to host the Special Olympics practice here and they use our horses to compete on. We also have “ponies and pups” our therapy miniature horses and dogs, for children, veterans and senior citizens. All of our programs are free of charge to these special groups. The Ranch is a 501c3! Because these programs are free it is only by the generous donations of others that keep these programs up and running! To donate, go to PayPal and use the email address [email protected]! #exodusranch#therapy#therapyanimals#horses#fostercare#fosterchild#stopdomesticviolence#goats#miniaturehorse#minihorse#donkey#horsesofinstagram#donkeysofinstagram#minidonkey#girlpower#lovethyneighbor#itsajesusthing#jesus#shellsampsonphotography#jesuslovesyou#cowgirl#cowboy
🔊Sound on! 🔊 It's Official! Pippi has broken her silence!!! At least she finally recognizes me as something! The hay lady!!! Pippi still has to be in quarantine for a little less than 3 more weeks. Quarantine is important when you are bringing in new animals to a healthy herd. Even if the animal is healthy upon arrival, they may be harboring viruses or parasites that can be passed to the others. Most veterinarians will recommend a 4 week quarantine stay. When entering the quarantine barn, I wear gloves and a completely different set of clothing/boots, preventing any chance of cross contamination with the other animals. This time may be kind of boring but it is super important when you rescue! It also provides a great time for bonding and R&R! So far, Pip and her unborn foal are doing great! ❤️
