Happy Thanksgiving everyone! The last two pictures are our cuddle clone of Nascar reenacting the story i am about to tell of him. This happened around this time of year sometime prbly in December when he was a few years old but its about food and funny so i wanted to do it on Thanksgiving and for my 50th post.
Ok so my dad in those times would like to make baclava for the Christmas time. So he had made baclava that day and it was sitting on our dinner table that night. It was around idk 8 or 9 at night. My sis was in her bedroom, my mom and dad in there room and me in the shower. And Nascar of course in the front room alone. Wellll, i walk out from the shower to the front room and Nascar is had gotten up on the chair and had his face all in the baclava. And was eating it all up, like a dog will do left alone with food😂. I immediately go "NASCAR!" And he turned around and got off the chair like "oh shit!" My dad came out hes "like wat was he doing?" I said "he was eating the baclava" and so he took the baclava and i think threw wat was left of it away. And ummm yeah Nascar was in big trouble. But now of course its something we reminisce on and laugh about. Hope you enjoyed the story and it made u laugh. I am so happy to have had Nascar in my life. Happy Thanksgiving. #happythanksgiving#happythanksgiving2017#givethanks#bethankful#thankful#nascardog#nascardogstory#funny#funnystory#dogstory#baclava#reenactment#dogintrouble#laughing#dog#baclavadog#cuddleclones#50thpost#laugh#food
I always wanted a dog. On Eli's summer visit, we decided to go visit the animals at the vet clinic. Tank was so excited to see us and jumped around like any 6mth old 'lab type' would, but as soon as we sat down he did too, and he leaned into you hard...Like he knew us. Tank had a sister who was also very sweet and perky but there was something about this one. We went home and begged Kurtis and he did the typical 'we can't handle a 6mth old dog right now, come on.' He said 'no'...and I cried like a little girl begging him like he was my dad,and so did Eli. I begged him to just come meet him, at least. Kurtis is tough but when it comes to animals he's a lil teddy bear. He gave the big pups both some scratches and belly rubs. Kurtis mentioned he liked the big one. Eli and I clucked about the dogs as we drove home. By that evening Kurtis finally said 'MAYBE, I'll think about it.' (which means I REALLY don't want to but if saying this gets you off my back for now...then fine.) The next day Elijah and I went on with life, it's not like either of us had ever been told no before...it was a fine and regular day. We put off the idea of getting a dog for another few months. Than... the front door opens and in walks Kurtis with a giant black puppy dog in his arms!!! I literally cried almost as hard as I did when Eli was born. Eli went back to his dad's again, and the usual depression came around and this round was no better than the others. However, this fuzzy head was ALWAYS poking through the crook on my arm EVERY TIME I CRIED, he laid next to me pawing at my arms till I pet him. At one of the lowest points of my year, he held totally still while I clinged to him and cried to Taylor Swift... In a world where everything is constantly changing around you, scaring you, hurting you, exciting you... your dog is always there for you. Dogs have a special way of finding the people who need them.🐕💙 #doglover#forlife#dogstory#adogspurpose#bestfriend#dogmom#lifeisbetter#withpets#stories
Desperately wondering if I have any treats (I do).
Scarlett + Rusty.
From the first day Scarlett came into rescue, Rusty has been observing her, communicating, and showing her that it is okay to trust him. The very first time they met, Rusty ran up to say hi. He recognized her fear and stopped within 15 feet of her. He looked away as if to say “I am not a threat.” He ran over and picked up a dog toy, slowly brought it back to Scarlett, laid it at her feet, then nonchalantly walked away. It was really amazing to watch them communicate. From then on they were pals. Rusty became more and more playful with her, and her countenance changed from fear to acceptance.
Scarlett has come a long way. She was found living in a landfill after being dumped out of a dumpster. She had made a den at the landfill, had to hunt for food and fight off coyotes. A dog that would hide under the bushes trying to disappear, now runs to the front door when you get home, so excited to see you. Tail wagging, mouth open, tongue hanging, jumping around for attention; she is a happy girl.
Scarlett lives with my parents and Rusty gets to see her about once a week. They love spending time with each other. #doglife
Such a well-rounded trip with these amazing people. To say that I'm enlightened by the different expertise each of them brought & shared though their questions, thought process, and feedbacks, is a complete understatement. It is equally heart-warming to get to know each other more personally, which adds an element of conviviality to the whole experience.. #target#dogstory#moredogstories
