Thank you @firemarshall205@ianlieberman@jeff_jitsu and @peterstraubmma for all their help leading up to this tournament and being there consistently to coach my matches.
My team is the best team in the world and I feel lucky and blessed (I write that earnestly and not ironically) to be aligned and associated with @eastontc Easton. My coaches and professors are more than just that- they are role models to me in showing how and where to plant my feet, how to act under and face adversity, and hold my head high against adversity and doubt, taking all the accountability and responsibility that I can.
Competing is much more than going out there and wrestling a bunch of dudes.
It’s adopting risk, uncertainty of outcome, fear and self doubt for the sake of having communal responsibility and representing your team in the best way that you can. It’s being scared and doing it anyway because being strong makes those around you stronger too and builds up those who are fearful of realizing their potential is greater than they have thought.
Thank you to @firemarshall205 and my coaches for granting me the tools to believe in my self- a very underrated and overlooked aspect that I had lacked.
Now it’s back to training. Take that victory, bury it deep, until it’s time to shine again and call upon that self belief.
P.S. I made some mistakes in NoGi but I am happy that I could play my game. I know what to work on and I’m better for it next time around. ——-
@justinthomas34 with a great chance to pickup another @pgatour 🏆! One thing I think people overlook is how good of a putter this guy is becoming. Everything he is working on is perfect and consequently he’s only seen improvement the last few years. He’s working on the basics such as the setup. I love how relaxed his setup is, everything is very functional. He’s got a nice flow and NOTHING tenses up. Justin has made some GREAT changes to his putting and it all came from the basics. Being a good putter isn’t some hidden formula. Developing the right plan for you CAN and WILL allow you to improve your putting. FUNDAMENTALS, SETUP, AND ROUTINE are something all the greats work on over and over, why should you be any different??
