Something about river veins will always intrigue me. Such a mind blowing sight to see from above. Earth is precious. Take care of it. Heading down to Fjordland and Milford Sound as we speak. Maybe find some glow worms as well 🐛
Lath mar Holi which means that Holi in which people hit with sticks is a local celebration where women hits the men with their sticks. Legend has it that Lord Krishna visited his beloved Radha's village on this day and playfully teased her and her friends. Taking offence at this, the women of Barsana chased him away. Keeping in sync with the story, the men from Nandgaon visit the town of Barsana every year, only to be greeted by sticks (aka lathis) of the women there. The ladies hurl sticks at the men, who try to shield themselves as much as they can. The unlucky ones are captured by the enthusiastic women who then, make the men wear female clothing and dance in public.
I took a few hits but didnt got captured 😉 A street can go from almost empty to fully crowded with mass movements in litterally seconds with everyone running.
Classic view from the kingslake. The emerald-colored water is just amazing.

An evening stroll to this little gem. A nice place to chill and reflect on things.

This week has been a stormy one, but we had a slight gap on tuesday so the guys from @midgardadventure took us up on Solheimajökull. We had a blast learning how to climb ice and yeah, basically not die up there... 10/10 would recommend!
