It takes 21 days to build or break a habit
Today begins day 1 of a project given to me by my amazing mother to try: the Resilience Project's 21 day wellbeing journal. Every day, you turn a page and spend 10 minutes or so answering a couple of questions. Coming at a time of pretty intense personal instability, this is coming at a perfect time.
Today we see whether, in 21 days, I am on my way to a better sense of mental health and wellbeing ✌

I love mantras; the Adi Mantra is still my favorite but this one is so perfect & powerful. .
I did this a couple months ago; I meditated using a mantra for 40 days; at that moment I used a healing one “Ra Ma Da Sa Sa Say So Hung”. Why 40 ? The vibrations of the number 40 are the powers to create and attain, when used on the positive path. When 40 is centred on the material plane, it manifests as creative abilities. When focused on the spiritual plane, 40 has the ability to open new avenues for investigation into the psychic and spiritual realms.
And, 40 is a number you will see many times in the Bible. It’s very powerful. And you’re closer to develop and maintain a habit. FYI 21 days don’t build a habit, it takes 66 days. .
Feel free to join this personal challenge; there’s no cute clothes or a nice mat to get at the end of the challenge; I’m sorry if you were expecting some prizes. But I’ll promise your life might change after 40 days. .

I strongly believe it is overrated. If I relied on my motivation to get things done, that would be a very inconsistant and conditional process. Instead of looking for motivation, I try to focus on building a habit and that works wonders!
So many times, including tonight, I could not have been bothered to do anything but eat, rest and have an early night after a tiring day at work. In other words, zero motivation could have been found. And this is where a habit kicks in.
I have a deal with myself: if I don't feel like exercising on a day when I really should, I don't push myself, I just go and do my warm up run for 10 minutes. After that I tell myself that I should be sooo proud, go home and chill to the maximum. And you know where the magic is? None of those times I had gone home - once the first sweat was broken, I would continue with a wonderful workout. And only at this stage I would get motivated. Had I relied on motivation, I would not have put my trainers on in the first place.
Mental barriers are so difficult to come over and having a habit is the way to go as it comes to breaking them. And this is a humble smile you get when it is done. Worth a selfie.
