Antique seaside holiday photos from Boscombe, a suburb of Bournemouth, England. Boscombe was once a thriving seaside town...between the wars it was a very wealthy area, but it has changed in the last 30 years according to my research. 🏖 I love these images during the town's prime. The couple with their baby and the lovely painted backdrop, then with their other children (The date is 1918, so the eldest son could have been in WW1 & the writing on the unmailed postcard is written to him: "To our darling son from your ever loving mother and dad.") The next images show the parents 5 years later in 1923 with the grown baby. I love the pail that she's holding and can imagine her being anxious to dig in the sand and beachcomb! The group photo makes me happy because the mother looks so relaxed & happy. (finally!) We all know the transformation that being on the beach can bring. 🌊💙 I'm curious if any of my friends on that side of the pond know anything more about this town.
Dogs and the beach!! 🐶🌊❄️Another lovely #Sundaystroll down the #beach. The sea was like a millpond, so calm and glassy! Too cold to go in for me though! Not a breath of wind. Lots of lovely doggy’s enjoying the sand between their toes!
Does your dog like the beach?
