Part 2 of the @thebohrikitchen adventure.
This is one adventure we had been waiting and planning for a long time. And am glad it happened immediately after landing in Mumbai.
All guests were welcomed with a lovely coconut drink. The thaal started off empty only to take us on an absolutely thrilling journey in a manner one could only imagine. The first entrants on the thaal were the condiments - Khajur (dates) and dry fruit chutney, pineapple and boondi raita, green chutney, stuffed chillies and salt. The youngest member (by heart or age 😜) at the Thaal sets the ball rolling by offering a pinch of salt to all those seated at the thaal. I obviously did the honours. What followed was a gastronomical experience of epic proportions. Smoked mutton kheema samosas, Chicken cutlets, Malai Khaja (a Bohri pastry stuffed with malai) , legendary TBK Raan in red masala with salli, Kaju chicken with Roti, Mutton Rosht with Jeera Rice and Shirmal (a bread beyond words) . All this was interspersed with the some amazing rose sharbat with sabja seeds and Jal Jeera Soda. If you you think this was the end, you couldn't be more wrong. Desserts came in the form of some out of this world Saancha guava and sitaphal ice cream (home made and hand churned) and Paan.
I have nothing but praise for the awesome team @thebohrikitchen - amazing Chief eating officer (Munaf), Head Chef and Munaf's mom (Nafisa), their social media enthusiast (Nafisa), Munaf's dad who makes you feel at home instantly and all their support staff. Oh and I almost forgot . They were even kind enough to let us take the bone for Coco, @unadev27 's dog.
Please do not miss this experience. You have to fight for your food in that thaal, trust me..😂😍 #foodinmumbai#homemade#homekitchen#bohrithaal#mumbai#bohri
