#iamprowoman: Kayla Reed, Jessica Byrd and Rukia Lumumba, activists and co-founders of Electoral Justice Project (@mvmt4bl) —
Millions flocked to the theaters this past weekend to see what will be a historic film, Black Panther. The film was a celebration of blackness and its beauty as well as a call for change and action. Kayla, Jessica, and Rukia answered this call by launching the campaign #wakandathevote in which they and other fellow organizers set up voter registration booths in theaters showing the movie. So far over 1000 people have registered at 40 different locations across the country. Movies inspire and when someone is inspired, things are going to happen. Thank you, ladies, for giving the power back to the people once showing at a time.
