When it comes to goal setting and deciding on what it is we actually want to achieve we tend to have no issue with envisaging the end goal or the finished product.
In fact, we are quite good at this…
“In 12 weeks from now I want to be down 12kg”
“In ten years time I want to be on a 50k a year salary”
“I want to get a distinction in my end of year exam”
Etc, etc, etc…. I could go on but I think you get my point. .
Many of us know what we want, but how many of us actually know how to put the foundations in place, get the wheels in motion and start effectively working towards achieving these goals?
You don’t just all of a sudden reach these goals some day without putting in the required work and following a structured plan.
If that was the case everyone would have what they want and you wouldn't have a goal to reach.
Unless you are able to break your goal down into different stages that keep you progressing towards it then the chances are it will remain a dream of yours and never become your reality…
In order to achieve any end goals you set, there are a number of what I like to call sort term goals or mini goals that have to be reached or ticked off along the way to bring you to that outcome.
Although we are good at setting a final goal for ourselves, we can find it quite difficult to recognise what we actually have to do to get to that final goal in an efficient and effective manner. .
There are certain steps and processes that need to be followed consistently in order to get to any end goal that you set for yourself that is worth achieving.
So many people fail to recognise this…and that is why they fail…time and again sometimes…
By focusing solely on the outcome or end goal in mind you can actually unmotivated yourself massively.
Looking at where you want to be in relation to where you are now can be quite daunting and demotivating, obviously it can have the opposite effect for some but for a lot of people it can be quite disheartening.
Instead of placing so much emphasis on the end goal…

Everyone has their story. Their struggle. Something that has kept them from being who they fully can be. For some, that is physical, for some it’s mental, for others emotional, and still others spiritual. For me, it’s been a mixture of all of those.
So I’m here to share my struggle and say it’s ok! We aren’t perfect! I went through high school being super athletic and playing sports (sounds great right?) but I had to work on my confidence and being comfortable with me because when I tore my ACL and meniscus I didn’t have sports to show who I was, I had to be me without a front. It made me stronger and inspired me to be a trainer. But! I went to college and gained the hated freshman 15 😬. I was playing sports, but I wasn’t eating right and didn’t know what I was doing in the gym. That was 2014.
I had a breakthrough, when I realized I was going up in my pant size from a 4 to an 8 and the fact that I just wasn’t feeling well all around. So I decided to workout with my sister @rachealkuperus and we were each other’s accountability partners. Now I’ve pushed passed the having a false confidence, to being truly confident and fighting to be stronger. Now I fight to be stronger than the yesterday in mind, spirit, and body.

Holy shit balls 😳 Need to remind myself how far I’ve come sometimes because I tend to get disheartened when I don’t get the results I want... but from the picture on the left to now I’ve lost nearly 3 stone and feel great 😁 For a while I was completely in denial about my weight... I refused to accept what was happening and got lazy and complacent on food. When I joined slimming world, I thought, oh yeah another fad diet that will last a month and then I’ll probably give up and gain more than what I started as. But here I am... snacking on fruit... eating healthy meals (almost) every night... and exercising.
