Finally decided to install the “new” faucet I bought two years ago... Some funny lessons I learned:
1. The 10 minute YouTube tutorial is a lie. Multiply the estimated time by 20 and that’s a more likely project time.
2. Replacing a faucet is more of an arm workout than the gym 😓(see image 3 for reference).
3. If you’re a woman, old men at Menard’s will think you have no idea what you’re doing. Thank you sir, but my dad told me exactly what I needed so I know what I’m talking about 😂😂
4. There’s no better feeling than accomplishing something you didn’t think you could do by yourself (...I only had to ask my dad to loosen the hot water connection because of all the calcium build-up ☺️). You’d think after being a homeowner for almost 3 years now I’d learn that home repair projects are never easy... but I love doing them and always enjoy the hilarity that seems to ensue. Thanks for letting me steal all your wrenches, dad! #bathroomdecor#bathroomremodel#bathroombeforeandafter#interiordesign#bathroomdiy#blackwhiteandgold
Tiniest sink...sweetest baby :)
Seriously this sink is very very tiny and this baby is very very sweet.
I still kinda want to paint this bathroom white, what do you all think? As you might remember I always envisioned all our tiny house walls white for a more modern farmhouse look but couldn’t do it once we saw how pretty the cedar wood was and how yummy it smelled! Plus Farmhouse is kinda on its way out right?! modern bohemian seems to be more the thing now. But maybe I can get my white in just this tiny space? I think white with the dark stained wood beams on the ceiling would make it seem bigger and brighter especially since it’s window is on the forest side of the tiny house and doesn’t get all the sun from the meadow that every other room gets? To paint or not to paint.... Tell me your vote in the comments below :)
And voilà 😁 A hot pink bath just in time for Valentine's Day 😁 We inherited this beauty with the house - she's enormously heavy and seemingly has only ever been painted in situ by previous owners (when we turned her over we saw the various paint layers had never made it round the back of the bath) so we're hopeful that she's original to the house, because why would you sweat and struggle to carry a cast iron bath down three flights of stairs only to carry an identical replacement all the way up again? 😅 We know from the property transfer documents that the house was once owned by a lady who got married to a gentleman who lived literally around the corner (I guess back in the pre-Tinder days when the only form of transport was a horse and cart, folk mostly had to marry their immediate neighbours given the lack of other available options). I like to think that she lounged around in the bath contemplating her options while sipping on gin or posset or whatever refined Victorian ladies imbibed in the bath. So now we just need to finish tiling the alcoves, tile the shower enclosure, connect the bath, fit the shower rail and the twisty bits 😁 and paint the bare plaster walls and ceiling in Blackened. Yes we should ideally have done that first but it's such a boring thing to do so we've left it to the end 😂
My parents bathroom (and bedroom) desperately needed a makeover and thanks to @sherwinwilliams paint, I was able to rescue it with this fun diy project. Click on link in bio for tutorial! (Swipe for before image) 🖌️🛁🚽❤️ #YesRoss

Realized I never posted a bathroom update and it was so bright and sunny this morning so here it is! I’m still waiting on the medicine cabinet above the vanity to be installed because Forrest is waiting until I pick out a light fixture before he installs it and I haven’t had the time to give it proper thought so here we are stuck in this endless cycle until I get it together. Swipe to see the before with the strange mini closet and tiny tall window (not to mention how generally disgusting everything was). Forrest did 100% of the work and I helped him by reclining in the bathtub (to test it out) while he worked on the plumbing. 😁 #ourhayleyhouse
Bathroom sink progress (and during 😱). We used an Ikea vanity unit, added our own wooden top (it needs painting white), an 800mm Vitra countertop basin, and a waterfall mixer tap. The floor tiles are down and the underfloor heating is working, the metro tiles plus tile trim are in place, and the new architrave is nailed into position. We need to paint the wall and ceiling in F&B Blackened, paint the door off-white satin, and box in and tile around the WC (it has to sit away from the wall to accommodate the waste pipe which we didn't want to move as that would have required scaffolding outside). But for now we have a working tap plus daffodils so it's all good here 🙌
Our master bathroom vanity used to have an opening in the middle... .
Does anyone use that space for a stool anymore?
So we add 2 shelves with baskets which was a super easy and inexpensive way to transform the builder grade vanity.
The hubby added molding along the front of the bottom and we painted the whole thing.
Now that dead space is actually being used😊

A little DIY on the bathroom. Check out the before video. Fresh paint new floors, refinished the vanity and a few accessories. Took me a good 7 hours yesterday. I may add a few more touches later. #bathroomdiy
So glad to get all your comments last night as to when you de-decorate. This is my thoughts, as I have yet to start! If I was able to fit three trees, 3 garlands, multiple wreathes, thousands of lights and all the extras and now I take them away... What am I left with? I say 'A shopping Spree' to fill the void??? I'll need some backing, if I'm taking this plea to my husband. I don't think I'll have a leg to stand on, on my own 🙈I may even hear an echo once I'm done.
Ruby, bashfully modeling our new console table for the downstairs bathroom. 🐶🚿🚽 Can you believe it was only $40 on #craigslist? It has the most beautiful inlay on the top, but needs some love. If anyone has tips for stripping furniture or products that work well please let me know!
Happy Christmas Eve from my newly grouted bathroom floor to yours 😀 The standard answer in our house to questions regarding readiness is "I was born ready" but now the bathroom floor is finished we are definitely ready for Christmas 😁 We operate a Festive Family Lock-in over the Christmas period - we lock the front door on Christmas Eve and no one comes in or out until at least the 27th 😁 We saw my family before Christmas, and are seeing my husband's family afterwards, but these few days are just for the eight of us (two grown-ups, three daughters, and three dogs) and it's absolutely blissful and stress-free. I asked the girls if they wanted to go to the local Christingle service this afternoon and they both looked up from their jigsaw puzzle and said "no" so we stayed in and I made Nigella's yule log cake instead. It's the great secret to life, I reckon, and it's taken me until my late thirties to figure it out: you can have it all, just not at the same time. Christingle one year, yule log the next, and if you can do them both at the same time without getting stressed over it, well, then that's a nice bonus, but it's not essential to happiness 😘 x
