2014 Banshee Pinot Noir. The label may have gotten a little mauled in the wine fridge, but what a fun wine! Medium body, aged in French oak. Really beautiful floral and cedar aromas right after the first pour. Light raspberry and lots of tart pomegranate precede a cherry finish. I’ve found this one at a wider variety of price points- somewhere between $25-30.•
When I saw @bansheewines#PinotNoir on the BTG list @walnutstcafe I couldn’t resist. Yes it’s because I know @jennyaschultz is a part of #BansheeWines , but also because I was impressed with my last time trying their Chardonnay. @eddiesade said they were looking for a Pinot to appeal to the customers looking for a wine that shows the fruit well. This wine accomplished that goal perfectly, with enough acidity to bring balance. Immediately on the nose this wine shouts #SonomaCountyWine
Weekend Wine Pour...
By The Laundry's Wine Steward - Hassan Rutherford .
This weekend we are taking a much needed mental vacation to the Golden State of California with Banshee Wines 2014 Mordecai Red Blend. While many California blends attempt to crash into your palate at full throttle, this red blend would prefer to give you a charming kiss. Deep rich combinations of ripe red and somewhat jammy black fruits, followed by a wisp of espresso richness is lovingly pulled out from the 7 grapes that compose this love song. 35% Cabernet Sauvignon, 28% Syrah, 22% Zinfandel, 6% Merlot, 4% Carignan, 3% Cabernet Franc, 2% Cinsault. It's broad shouldered, but light on its feet. Come in and fall in love with California wine all over again.
A welcome respite after a (not so) laborious client meeting in Dry Creek Valley. Life at Angelsmith is hard, meetings in Sonoma, drinking wine with happy people, dinner at critically acclaimed restaurants. Don’t try this at home.
Go for the Pinot, stay for the Cab. This thing is a packed bruiser, deserving a steep decant–and an SOS-pad for your glasses. And, at 50 bucks, it remains one of Napa Valley’s great bargains. A brick wall of rich black cherry concentrate hits your face, flooding everything with sweet nectar and requiring a near-CHEW to dissolve towards your throat. Spicy green briar runs the gamut from carborundum to conifer while huge fruit, desperately attempting to evade the structure, wrings wet leather out on the sidewalk. You've had this wine, right?
Wow! This is the first 3-day weekend in a long time I have stayed local. My staycation included a wine tasting trip 🍷 to Healdsburg, rollerblading 🎉 at the Church of 8 Wheels for a friend’s birthday, a concert, hosting a dinner party at our place and making killer breakfasts at home! What’s your favorite thing to do on a long weekend?
Mosey on over to the Tasting Room why don’t ya?! (If this pic doesn’t tempt you enough). We’ll be here until 7pm for after Winter Wineland shenanigans at our Tasting Room in the ‘Burg pouring some killer wines that’ll most likely end in some sort of dance party. 🍷👈🏻🕺🏻 #saturdayshenanigans#bansheewines#danceparty#winenot
Wine and football, bring it!!🍷🏈
Drinking a Pinot Noir tonight from @bansheewines. Sweet floral notes, including cherry and spice. The cherry follows through on the palate with plum, licorice and a faint mineral contrast to the fruit. Medium bodied, smooth tannins with an elegant finish. Cheers!✨ #gogeorgia#mondaywine#pinotnoir#bansheewines
