The first day we were in Banff the visibility was SO terrible, hence my less than amused look! British Columbia had a record breaking number of forest fires and all of the smoke drifted to Alberta. Luckily, it cleared up a little bit over the next few days we were there!
Throwing a line out at Hector Lake. Being that we were on a backpacking trip, I had no room for waders or any fishing gear other than my rod and a few flies. I was so excited to fish that I waded out into the water in just some running shorts. After about an hour of not getting a bite and losing all feeling in my legs and feet, I called it quits and came to shore where megan has a fire going. About twenty minutes after that, the hatch happened and the trout started top water feeding 😅. I wasn’t going to get back in the water again so I had to convince myself that I didn’t care that I missed the hatch 😂 // photo: @megunc.#flyfishing#fishing#findyourwater#flyfishingnation#redingtongear
