Happy #traveltuesday! Sharing one of my photos of the exterior of my favourite hotel in the world! Can you guess? I actually just returned home from a short trip to Europe, and I have hundreds of photos of all the sights we crammed into a few days visit - the museums and buildings and hotel furniture and lamps and ceilings and oh the chandeliers!! I can't wait to sort out the best snapshots and post them here soon! So much beauty and inspiration in even the smallest details. But first I have a set of travel inspired interior decor photos to share from a much more local hotel (and my favourite hotel of anywhere in the world). Did you recognize it? An hour drive from home, this photo is the beautiful Fairmont Banff Springs! I took this photo on a sunny day in October, this perspective is looking up at the window of the Alhambra Room (lower left), seen as you exit the Stanley Thompson wing and just before you walk into the Shops entrance. Love this beautiful exterior stonework. Stay tuned this week for a few photos of some of my favourite interior design details inside Alberta's own Castle in the Rockies! Oh I love it there! ❤️
So happy we finally had the opportunity to visit the incredible Abraham Lake in the Canadian Rockies! Not only can you see through the ice but the gas bubbles are frozen beneath the surface, creating an artistic touch. Cool eh? - - - Photo by @matthewgbailey
Such a happy heart when these special memories were sent to me today. Counting down the weeks until I’m reunited with my goofy big bro @karlitoxplorer for some snowy mountain adventures! 🗻 (I swear I have eyebrows, but apparently I could use some sunnies).
Lake Louise, Banff National Park, 🇨🇦 June 4, 2015
I came across this photo while cleaning off my phone, and instantly felt transported back to this moment. I felt so fearless and strong part way through an exhilarating and breath-taking hike, dwarfed by the gorgeous Canadian Rockies. I had been married just days earlier, and was a week away from starting an internship that would eventually turn into my full-time job. When I look at this photo, I’m reminded of the excitement of the unknown, the potential; I feel empowered.
Are there any photos that viscerally transport you back to a moment in time or a point in your life? Or a photo that makes you feel strong and confident? I’d love to see it! Tag me in a comment if it’s posted on Instagram.
Taken on the Plain of Six Glaciers — still one of my all-time favorite hikes to-date! It’s the perfect way to see Lake Louise while losing the crowds. Can you spot the famous Chateau?

One of the only snapchats I’ve saved to my phone, before IG stories were a thing. This is a timeless memory, a quick/low effort video I hope my grandkids see one day. In Banff w/ @itsbigben
As a backpacker I make sure I only pack the essentials for when I am traveling. If a Pikachu onesie isn’t an essential you have your priorities wrong 😂⚡️ what the heck
