A glimpse of Carlo Dolic's exquisite painting titled Hope. A gifted painter, Carlo Dolic studied with Jacopo Vignali at the age of 9 and opened his own workshop at age 16. A perfectionist, it was said that Dolci would recite the litany "Ora pro nobis (pray for us)" between each brush stroke.

Hanging out with a stimulating crowd!! #magdalenaabakanowicz “My work comes from the experience of crowds, injustice, and aggression… I feel an affinity for art when it was made a form of existence, like when shamans worked in the territory between men and unknown powers… I try to bewitch the crowd.”
I love how I get to be a hot shot art buyer for an art museum in this game, and throw around the big bucks. It’s just like when my dad would take me to an art museum and ask me which painting I would want to hang in my home.
Snapshot from my last Tampa area trip, catching this epically mustachioed museum docent explaining Salvador Dalí’s 1963 painting “SalGalacidalacidesoxiribunucleicacid” (also known as Homage to Crick and Watson (Discoverers of DNA) ... if you’re ever near Tampa, hop over to Saint Petersburg because it’s definitely worth a visit. ✌🏼 #art#artmatters#maketodaycount

Here you can see 'The Raising of Lazarus', painted by Sebastiano del Piombo incorporating designs by Michelangelo, which hangs in Room 8.
This work was painted for Cardinal Giulio de' Medici in Rome in competition with Raphael's 'Transfiguration', now in the Vatican Gallery. It was subsequently taken to the Cathedral of Narbonne. Some of the main figures are based on drawings which Michelangelo supplied for the guidance of Sebastiano.
The painting was one of the first paintings to enter our collection and holds the inventory number of 'NG1'. Photo by #nationalgallery photographer Tom Patterson.
