Some days paintings flow without much effort and I love all that I’m creating. The last couple weeks have not been like that. They have been very hard. I’ve struggled to push through on a few pieces that I just don’t want to be done. This piece has been at least 3 different paintings so far. The creative process can be so exciting and so exhausting all at the same time. While I’m feeling frustrated, I will keep trying!! Always!! There is just no other way.
Hard to believe only one week left til my shop goes on Christmas vacation. Calendars are sold out, but I just listed two more originals, and still have a good stock of prints. Oh, and I have ninja-fast shipping skillz 😎. (Link in profile.)
I want to dedicate this wall to my mother. Wherever she may be in the universe. She always told me i could be anything I wanted. I choose a path of inspiration and change one painting at a time. ❤❤❤❤ thanks to @kiki_somerville and @jencgonzalez@tfa_the_fearless_artist for the kind words and the freedom to create. 🙏🏽🙏🏽
Can you believe Christmas is almost here? The weather is starting to feel like winter too. We just had our first fire in the fireplace and started our annual tradition: watching my extensive collection of “A Christmas Carol”. Such a wonderful story of redemption. Last night it was Patrick Stewart; tonight it’s the Albert Finney version. Love ‘em all!

- I spend a lot of my time investing in myself, regardless of where I'm at in life. It doesn't matter what day job I work, which projects I focus my time on, what role I am labeled to play, or however people choose to see me through their respective lenses.
I know my own value and even if people don't recognize or understand my vision, my irrepressible commitment to my craft is what has set me free. I am not held back by numbers or opinions and thus my value is intrinsic by nature. Maybe few people know my name, respect my work or believe in my abilities or potential at this moment in time, but that's okay with me.
I'm not waiting around for someone to notice or save me. I'm going to make it happen regardless of how steep the climb, no matter the setbacks that I encounter or the naysayers that attempt to bring me down to their level. I promised myself to be true to the work and that's the only thing I'm truly certain of.
So sit back, relax, and enjoy watching my process unfold because one day, I won't be living at home with my parents working a restaurant job and hustling on the side. One day, I'll be flying all around the world, making art, selling art, and sharing the process to pave the way for the next generation of talented artists and creatives. I'm enjoying the ride and I'm so grateful to everyone who has encouraged and been kind to me on this journey. My best work is still ahead of me, so I can only imagine what is to become of my life. Maybe one day, I'll make something more beautiful than anyone dared dream of. -
