Three-Toed Sloth climbing on a tree. This is an adult male of the subspecies Brown-Throated Sloth. Males are easily recognised by the orange and black striped patch on his back. Despite being known as slow and lazy creatures (they are called perezoso in Spanish!) this was was moving rather quickly and with agility on his way down the tree. A pleasure to watch! Spotted near Los Guardianes Wildlife Refuge in Puerto Viejo.
Really love this photo. Had no idea it would come out like this. I wasn't focused on taking pictures, I was more about having fun being present in that moment, pictures were secondary. But man, I love this one! Do you feel you take your best pictures when you're not so worried about them?? Let me know below!
