Can't wait to get back to Australia! 🇦🇺 📸@gavinbain
Was honored to pour at the Great Alaska Beer and Barleywine Festival this past weekend. Lots of good vibes. A little out of my element, but I was able to get by on serving skills & ability to BS with guests + having a great crew of reps and volunteers. Thanks to my buddy @seelenland for hooking me up with this volunteer opportunity! Pic taken before doors opened for the Sat night session

Squeezed in some sunset ice skating before the weekend is over ⛸
There’s not much #snow below ~3000’ in #ChugachStatePark but, as usual, there’s enough for #skiing up high. Getting to it is the issue. #Anchorage and Southcentral #Alaska are northern latitudes where a near sea level #snowpack used to be the norm. This is the thinnest low and mid elevation season in over a decade. Last season was the first in several years that a sea level snowpack returned. #ClimateChange is having a significant impact on societies, and to those involved with #ski and #snowsports#culture it’s readily apparent. Most of us love the #human#experience and our technologically advanced #civilization, so let’s not forget the three R’s; reduce (the most important), reuse, and recycle; and raise our #consciousness in order to create a better and more sustainable world for all beings. It’s eminently possible.
TLDR: Summit of O'malley Peak yesterday
The forecast for yesterday was pretty cold. The high for the trailhead was said to be "1". We decided to give it a shot, and it turned out to be an incredibly clear winter day. It was even, dare I say, "toasty" while we were on the sunny side of the summit ridge. We were mentally prepared to ascend in belay jackets, but we only took them out of our packs so we could kill more time on the summit.
Cheers to @alliwantisfunzies for being such a cheery and willing winter hiking partner!
Post 2 for week 3 of #impsoexcited : Floorwork. So, here is a video of me brainstorming shapes and disguising my comp song with an overlay of @williamfitzsimmonsofficial 's
magical voice. (Seriously, if anyone ever wants to make me have a feelsy cry on the spot, play anything from this album)
Floorwork and I have a bit of a rocky relationship. I had never done anything dance or gymnastics related until I dove head-first into pole. I'm only now becoming comfortable enough to explore movement on the ground instead of in the air... I'm an incredibly shy person (however well I may be able to fake it sometimes) and have never really enjoyed putting my body in the spotlight. It makes me feel extremely vulnerable and so, until lately, I've avoided attempting actual dance movement.
Competing has pushed me to delve farther into studying movement and trying to fine-tune my poor little flailings. Having a background in animation helps a little, because I'm able to SEE what I want and work towards executing it the best I can, even if my brain struggles with talking to the right muscles.
I still feel weird referring to the un-trained rolling around I do as dancing, but there is music in me waiting to get out. ❤
In a couple months I'll be heading back up to Alaska to photograph the northern lights and some winter wildlife. Unfortunately, by the time I arrive all of the bull moose, like this one, will have lost their antlers for the season. But a moose is a moose and you can't go wrong there!
