Hi everyone, today I have Basil seeds on my mind. I love Basil and I can't wait to start collecting it's happy little seeds again. Have you ever saved Basil seeds? It's worth the wait! Here is how.... --First, allow some of your Basil to start blooming, this usually happens during the hotter months of the year. The blooms are beautiful. (Top left pic) --Next, as the blooms start to get older and dry they will also be easy to pull out of their little green homes. The blooms can be saved and dried, if desired. -- After that, you need to let the Basil plant go to work producing seeds. At first they will appear to be little white balls where you previously had flowers. Those are your seeds forming. (Top right and bottom left pic) -- Keep waiting...
-- Finally, the little white seeds will start to dry and turn brown and then almost black. Their little green homes will start drying and turning brown also. Now, you pick, pick, pick! Pinch off each little cluster and 3-4 gorgeous little seed friends will pop out for you! (Bottom right pic)
I hope this was helpful, if you ever have questions, I am happy to share information!
Either way, I am definitely #gardendreaming2018 of planting about 50 more Basil plants than last year. 😂🌱🌱🌱 #basileverywhere .
