Heyooo peeps! 🤗 I know I don’t post as often anymore, I’m sorry. So a little update, I’ve been having ankle issues for a few years now, and recently I found out what the issue is. I’ve got a severe osteochondral defect on my right ankle 🤦🏻♀️ which means, I had to adjust my workouts and workout schedule to not strain it anymore than it already is. Since I can’t lift as much as I usually would, I have started to dedicate my time into study for the med school entrance exams this year 🤓 So that’s my life update. •
So to my post today. I just want to encourage anyone, who may be struggling to see the results they want versus the results they have. People, maintenance is progress too! I have been working towards gaining more muscle and a bigger 🍑 for over a year now. Despite seeing some progress, I am still no where near where I want to be, due to the many breaks and adjustments I had to make to my workout plan. On the other hand, I am happy that I haven’t had any major set-backs. I’ve been very consistent with my body weight and the weights I lift. It is not ideal for my goal, but it is ideal for my current health. So I’ll take it. Don’t ever feel bumped out for being stuck at a plateau, due to your life circumstances, cuz it’s only temporary. Just keep lifting the way that’s best for you! Hope everyone’s doing great in 2018! Love ya all 💕 #wyfittraining
HOOK & PRESS featuring @debbihutt 🤩 My mum joined in this evening for Hook and Press which I was teaching alongside @mink_the_trainers 👸🏼 To teach not only my mum but also my role model, friend and my inspiration was absolutely awesome!! 💪🏼 My mum taught aerobics back in the day, I would be sat in the corner in a buggy (taking it all apparently) as I have completely followed in her footsteps just minus the leg warmers and leotards!! 👯♀️ Thanks for visiting me mumma, miss you already!! Next time come for longer... 💜💜 #energeticnarcoleptic#amsterdam#fitspo#fitfam#fitness#angel#trainlikeanangel#boxing#aerobics
Wish me luck, getting ready to face the critics for ‘Let’s Get Physical’ at the @official_tca!🤞🏻Now let’s see if my friend @therealonj is up for a duet! 😆

One of the main reasons people fail to reach and maintain their weight loss is because they diet alone without engaging in weight training. Weight training is a powerful and effective weight loss tool. Combining dieting with weight training is more effective than either behavior alone. Weight training is an effective and successful way to lose weight due to the significant increases in the amount of calories that you burn during and post exercise. After breaking down the muscle during weight training, your body has to now begin the repair process and burn calories to rebuild the muscles stronger than before. Muscle mass also burns calories-so the more muscle you have on your frame, the more calories you burn at rest! So you can be sitting on your butt and Netflixing while your metabolism is operating at increased levels🤯! WIN.
In terms of weight loss, cardio/aerobics is not necessary and is subordinate to weight training when it comes to dropping the pounds, but it can certainly help increase your caloric expenditure. Of course, a caloric deficit is paramount for weight loss! So in essence, combining a slight caloric deficit (not crash diet 🆘❌🙅🏼♂️)with weight training and aerobics is the most effective method to ensure successful AND sustainable weight loss!
