AUSTIN, TX: Nia gives "Mother Hen" a run for her money. She is the best-doggy-friend your kids have always wanted! But despite her loveliness, Nia is a long term shelter dog and we suspect it is due to her 8 years of age. 🙁 Nia would be a great addition to a family who needs a calm dog. Nia is very chill, laid-back, and her only needs are love and food! Ready, set, let's get Nia home...PLEASE SHARE! ⭐️ @austinpetsalive wrote, "The face that launched a thousand squeals... it's hard to look at Nia and keep your composure. There is just something about her wrinkled, spotted face that makes everyone want to stop, meet her, and then swoon. We hope to get Nia out of the shelter and into a home with a family since she does so well with kiddos!
Nia has a calm, casual demeanor, but she really comes alive when you take her for a stroll. She gets a spring in her step and a wag in her tail when heading to the trail or around the neighborhood. It wasn't always this way, as Nia came to Austin Pets Alive in pretty bad shape - emaciated and mostly hairless. After surgery and lots (and lots!) of food, this warrior not only survived, but has thrived in our care.
Nia needs to be the only pet in the home, but she is friendly with all people and great with kids! She has lived in a foster home and has proven to be gentle and loving with children. She is crate-trained, laid-back and an overall chill girl whose only demands are lots of walks and lots of love!
Come meet this volunteer favorite and be prepared to fall for sweet, easy, squishy Nia!" To adopt Nia, please email [email protected] with questions or to submit an application.
Nia is located at @austinpetsalive animal shelter, Town Lake location, 1156 W. Cesar Chavez Street, #Austin, #TX. ❤️ #seniordog#texas#adoptme#nannydog#adoptdontshop
