Nandi: a rich character of par excellence. Symbolic of loyalty, humility, obeisance, conscientious, devotion....he is not just a mere vahana of lord Shiva. Gopalakrishna Bharathi's, 'சற்றே விலகி இரும் பிள்ளாய்....' expresses Shiva's deep respect and bond of a motherly love towards Nandi, in the manner in which he requests him to move aside to allow for his ardent devotee Nandanar to have a glimpse of him.
* From the yogic perspective, Nandi is the mind dedicated to Lord Siva, the Absolute. In other words, to understand and absorb Light, the 'experience and the wisdom' is Nandi which is the Guru within. *Ref: Wikipedia #nandi#lordshiva#shiva#shivaholic#shivratri#shivatribe#shivapower#shivalinga#shivalingam#sivanandayoga#sivamayam

🕉️ SHIVLING PUJA-
#Shivling connects a devotee with the Supreme Being: LordShiva.
The lingam is the symbol of #LordShiva & the lingam puja helps the devotee in understanding Lord Shiva. The Lord cannot be described but still we say he is without a beginning & an end & is without a form. It is difficult for a devotee to understand this formless nature. Therefore Lord Shiva appeared in the form of Jyotirlinga before Brahma & Vishnu. The #Lingam thus is a #symbol of Lord Shiva. Each Lingam puja, step by step, takes the devotee to the eternal truth – that he/she is part of the #Supreme Being
Before starting the Puja, the devotee takes a bath & wear freshly washed clothes. Hymns praising Lord Shiva or the mantra ‘ॐ नमः शिवाय‘ are repeated to create a mood for worship. Then, the devotee sits in front of the lingam & blows conch/ ring bells. This indicates the beginning of the Puja
1st is the panchamrit abhishek– the libation of 5 holy liquids over the lingam. The libation can consist of any 5 of the following- water from river Ganga, honey, sugarcane juice, milk, yogurt, ghee, seawater, coconut water or milk, fragrant oils, rose water or other precious liquids. Usually, only milk of cow is used. While pouring the liquid, OM NAMAH SHIVAYA is told. Some devotees repeat the Lord’s name (this mantra) 108 times & some 1008 times(There is no fixed rule)
After the panchamrit abhishek, the lingam is cleaned with water from #Ganga(This is might not be possible always so just normal water) After this the lingam is smeared with sandalwood paste & is decked with flowers. Water & sandalwood paste is used to keep the lingam cool, as LordShiva is always in a highly inflammable state. In some Shiva temples,🚩 cooling liquid constantly drops from pot hung above the Lingam.

#Law of #Karma
The Law of Karma is one of the fundamental doctrines of not only #Hinduism, but also of #Buddhism and #Jainism. As a man sows, so shall he reap. This is the law of Karma.
Desire produces Karma. You work and exert to acquire the objects of your desire. Karma produces its fruits as pain and pleasure. You will have to take births after births to reap the fruits of your Karmas. This is the law of Karma.
The doctrine of #reincarnation or transmigration is a fundamental tenet of Hinduism. You will not cease to exist after death. Before this birth you have passed through countless lives. The word 'reincarnation' literally means coming again into a physical body. The individual soul takes again a mortal vehicle. The word 'transmigration' means passing from one plane to another-passing into a new body.
The doctrine of rebirth is a corollary to the law of Karma. The differences of disposition that are found between one individual and another must be due to one's respective past actions. Past action implies past birth. Further, all your Karmas cannot certainly bear fruit in this birth alone. Therefore, there must be another birth for enjoying the remaining actions. Each #soul has a series of births & deaths. Births & deaths will continue till u attain knowledge of the Self.
You do not come into the world in total forgetfulness & in utter darkness. You are born with certain memories and habits acquired in the previous births. Desires take their origin from previous experiences. We find that none is born without desire. Every being is born with own desires, which are associated with the things enjoyed by him in the past life. The desire proves the existence of his soul in the previous lives.
Man contains within himself infinite possibilities. The magazine of power & wisdom is within him. He has to unfold the Divinity within. This is the object of living & dying.
