Christmas is my JAM!! 🎄🎁
I believe when we put good out into the world it comes back in unique ways.
This Holiday Season we are coming together to share the Holiday Spirit in our Community Young, Old and Furry too with Stockings for Shelters.
Receiving gifts are great, but Giving Gifts is what Christmas it's all about !
This year we are hoping to fill 100 Stockings with Toys, Mitts, Hats, Hygiene products, Animal Food, Puppy Toys and more for local Shelters such as Nova Vita, Welcome In and SPCA 🐾
There is now a Stockings for Shelter drop off right here for your convenience.
Thank you for all your support.
Thank you Alysha Williams & Ben Strasser for allowing me to sponsor such a great cause.
Do you acknowledge your role? 🤔 It’s easy for dogs to miss interpret our actions. Love and best intentions doesn’t supersede knowledge - I’ve learned. Understanding and accepting our role in the problem and our role in the solution is a good first place to start. When we change, they change. 👉🏽🤳🏼🐶. As a mentor said to be once “ we create their reality, then act surprise when dogs misbehave.” Who taught them otherwise? 🐾❤️👣 Free resources linked in my bio if you’d like to learn more about my mission to educate.

After Lucy Mae passed, it took me a while to be ready to be a dog mom again, but when I saw this guy...I had a feeling! Meet the newest member of the family, Señor Capitán! But you can call him Cappie! I chose to adopt this senior cutie (9 yrs young) knowing we won't have as many years together as with a younger dog...but the time we will have is going to be EPIC! He is already feeling right at home...💚 #chipin#dogsofinstagram#chihuahua#minpin#instahappy#instamood#caspca#spca#adoptdontshop#wahoowa
Meet Beefcake! This handsome and confident gentleman cat enjoys acting the Sheriff. He is currently patrolling the SPCA lobby - checking out visitors and making the rounds of the lobby cages. Beefcake was picked up as a stray but must have had a family in the past because he enjoys attention and has no fear of people! He is 7 years old, a bit swaybacked, a little overweight but awfully sweet, always curious and ready to check in on what’s happening in his territory! Come meet this gentleman cat in our lobby - he’ll be the one sauntering up to you when you arrive!
Lauren grew up in Massachusetts and was on the competitive downhill skiing team in high school and college. She says the university gym was always too crowded, so she decided to start running outdoors. She did not know anything about the sport and had no idea how far she was going. Instead, she would warm-up with a lap or two around the block and then head back inside. After a couple years of this, her parents gave her a pair of tights and a long-sleeved dry-fit shirt for Christmas. She decided that she needed to take the sport more seriously now that she had “real” running clothes. She entered a few races, and in 2013 she was shocked to win a half marathon in western Massachusetts. At that point, Lauren says she bought a watch and began incorporating harder, faster workouts into an organized training plan. At last month’s #HoustonHalfMarathon, she was the 5th female overall with a PR of 1:23:56. She is excited to see her times continue to drop as she gains experience and establishes new goals. During the day, Lauren is a Registered Dietician at the #UniversityofHouston. Her main focus is ensuring the dorms offer a variety of healthy food choices, but she has also worked to establish a bi-weekly farmers market which gives students an exciting selection of fresh, local products. Her advice to runners is similar to what she recommends for students at UH. Runners should eat a wide variety of healthy foods and avoid low-carb diets because they deplete the body of the energy required to complete tough workouts. Lauren also has a passion for animals. Her dog, Pigpen, was adopted from the #SPCA and loves to run with her in the mornings. She says he is always happy and never complains when she wakes him up at 5 a.m. to head out the door. As if running and working full time were not enough, Lauren is currently pursuing her Master’s degree in Public Health and planning a summer wedding in Massachusetts with her fiancé, Brooks! www.peopleofmemorialpark.com #doglover#runhou#runhouston#memorialpark#TROT#TrailRacingOverTexas#UHcoogs#RegisteredDietician
