**Update 22/01/18** I won't use the Q word as we don't like to tempt fate, however not much on the job front for the team. We have only been tasked once in the last 10 days. On Sunday 21st of Jan we were called out to a member of the public who's dog had managed to get through the fence at Roundham Head, the dog was half way down the cliff and we could see him on arrival. Due to how far down he was, we set up our cliff rig to send a cliff technician over to recover him using our dog rescue bag (this comes with gloves for the ones that like to bite during distress) however just as the cliff tech was about to go over, the dog managed to get him self in arms reach of our Edge Safety officer who was able to grab him and pass him over to the cliff tech. The dog is safe and well, the owners were very relieved to have him back on firm ground.
Where this was in the park dogs are often of their leads and he managed to get through a small gap. Accidents happen and this dog owner did the right thing by dialling 999 and asking for the Coastguard. The owner kept eyes on their dog until we arrived and managed a safe rescue.
We will continue to keep our followers updated on here as often as possible, or you can follow our Facebook and Twitter accounts.
Let’s kick off the storytelling with this very touching post from @viks_pops - see her original post for more photos of her grandfather...
I’m so in love with my feather tattoo at the moment. I’ve always loved it, when I had it done 5 years ago it was because I was going through a tough time and I needed strength and courage which is what feathers symbolise for me, as well as freedom - there was something, or should I say someone, I needed to break free from at the time and, silly as it sounds, it helped me find the strength to do that. Little did I know I’d need even more strength a few months later when my absolutely amazing Grandad died after a long battle with dementia. Watching him disappear, both physically and mentally, before my eyes was the most heartbreaking thing I’ve ever had to go through. On Monday, it will be 4 years since the bravest man I have ever met left us to be with his wife and his son. I hope you are all happy up there (no doubt Nan is nagging as usual, so normal life has resumed for you both 😂). Not a day goes by when I don’t think about you or miss you Grandad.
The spectrum of the colors in this world is wider than we could even imagine. The main task is to capture it fairly and share it with you. Let your life be colorful and bright and have a lovely weekend. #colors#sunset#spectrum#England#UK#paignton
