Today we are heading back to France 🇫🇷 with the Muscadet!
Muscadet (“muss-kuh-day”) is a bone-dry, light-bodied white wine from the Loire Valley of France that is made with Melon de Bourgogne grapes. It is minerally, citrus-like taste and high acidity. 🥂
Muscadet (Melon) is a wine for those who love anything-but-fruity wines. They are lean, green, and have a fascinating almost saline-like quality to the taste. In fact, the Muscadet vineyards closer to the sea receive more of this salty note due to salty sea breezes! I
Light-bodied white wines like Muscadet are perfect palate cleanser wines due to their natural high acidity. They stand up to zesty vinaigrettes and other high-acidity dressings. Though a Muscadet’s is realllllll good with seafood, particularly mussels and oysters.

Esse é daqueles vinhos quase que na lista dos perigosos... porque ele dá vontade de tomar de gut gut....um Muscadet bem fresco, cítrico e redondo.
Pra quem não sabe o que é um Muscadet, com eu não sabia..., trata-se de uma denominação de origem de vinhos, da França, mais especificamente do Vale do Loire, na costa oeste da França.
São vinhos brancos produzidos à base da uva Melon de Bourgogne.
Quero falar (entenda-se provar) ainda muito deles por aqui.
Provoque a sede até não aguentar mais e brinde a vida com uma bela taça de vinho. Bom dia queridões da minha vida.

We had family dinner tonight. I shucked the #oysters Madeline rolled pesto #zucchiniflowers and we made a #beet and cauliflower puree to compliment our French pork chop ! Wine tonight was #muscadet from the #loirevalley paired with the oysters.. I felt like i was floating and #cotesdurhone#saintcosme which was a intricate pairing with the dinner. I feel like the meal was successful

There are a few things I can’t get enough of. In addition to the white wine in that glass, I love radicchio and farro. Ok, I love bacon, too. Here they come together in a fabulous Farrotto, a risotto-like dish made with farro or wheat berries instead of the rice. There’s a great tip in the recipe for getting the same creamy texture as rice, using farro or wheat berries, that works wonders. This was one of the best things I’ve made this year. Granted the year is only 6 weeks old, so I have a ways to go. But I plan to make it again (and again) before the year is up. At least until the radicchio runs out at the marché. Superbe muscadet 👌👏 Le nez est floral, l’attaque est franche, c’est très équilibré en bouche, sur l’agrume, avec une belle longueur.
