So I was laying down on my bed and I thought about what my brother told me last week. “Have you watched your old workout videos to get some more motivation?” And I said no. I went in his Instagram page and came across Day 1. The first day I set foot in a gym and picked up some 15 pound dumbbells and went for some shoulder presses. I lay here in amazement, I lay here in shock, I lay here with pride. To think how far I’ve come and to think of how far I will go makes me feel more motivated. It’s not imposible people, if anyone tells you something is imposible, those people are shit wrong. Lower Day (Due to the video being long I had to cut some of the clips)
First Slide: Front Squat, Back Squat, RDL, & Machine Kickbacks
Second Slide: I was going to do 275lbs for 3 Sets of 3 rep after Front Squat but my rear delt starting hurting. At the moment I didn’t know what was going on so I got sketch and lowered the weight to 250lbs for 5 Sets of 3 reps. Then I later realized that I forgot to warm up rotator cuffs 🤦🏻♂️ oh well I do make mistake like everyone else. 🤷🏻♂️
✅⬇️ BUILDING BIGGER SHOULDERS ⬇️✅
🔹 Building big, round deltoids is always something I've struggled with. Being so naturally skinny I've always had quite narrow shoulders. So here's three top tips for building MASSIVE boulders! 🏋🏻
🥇 - HEAVY LATERALS - In order to get your delts to grow, you have to lift heavy. I've found the best way to do this is through lateral raises. Unlike the shoulder press, raises isolate the muscle and with correct form, you shouldn't be incorporating any secondary muscles during the lift. I've found the best way to hit laterals is single arm dumbbells, stood in front of an upright bench with my non working arm holding the bench for support. This allows you to keep a straight back and prevents you from swinging the weight up 💪🏻
🥈 - DON'T WASTE TIME ISOLATING FRONT DELTS! - The anterior or "front" deltoid gets plenty of stimulation through shoulder pressing, not to mention on chest day when you hit that bench press. Focus your shoulder workout more around building the medial and rear delt to really build those 3D shoulders! -
🥉FST-7⁉️ - This is a training method that's become very popular over the last few years. The idea behind it is to stretch the fascia (the connective tissue surrounding muscles) through lifting heavy with slow, correct form. There is then a seven, yes SEVEN 😱 set exercise at the end of the workout, to pump as much blood in to the muscle as possible, once the fascia has been stretch sufficiently. This is done with moderately light weight, with 40-45 second rest between sets. I don't use this method of training for every muscle group, but I find with shoulders it really helps pump them to their limits! 😈
