Looking to catch some fish for dinner this weekend? If you’re heading out on the lake, be mindful that warmer temperatures could have made the ice unsafe to cross. When our crews head out on the ice to complete their work, they test it by using two crew members attached together by a rope. One person ventures out and tests the ice for density and thickness at various distances from the shore. The other crew member monitors for any movement and if detected, the person on the ice sits down slowly and is pulled to safety.
@jaysteez94 was out looking for pike but found a mean green machine instead. Just a reminder to all you Minnesota peeps, these are out of season and cannot be targeted. I keep forgetting to remember to relay that message when posting. Nothing you can do if you catch it when you're out fishing for pike or pannies. Sorry to jack your feature thread for some information dude! ha
Mötte ett par gamla fiskerävar ute på Vänerns is. Tjugo kilo abborre hade de dragit upp! Tant pimplare på +75 hade fiskeblod på kinden men log brett och pratade om smörstekt abborre. Lycka ser olika ut! ❤️
Met an older couple who had been fishing on the ice the whole day. 20 kg with perch was their catch, she told me with a huge smile and fish blood on her cheeks. Pure happiness can look like that! .
