What a difference it makes! Software/firmware updates give you new cooking profiles and allows you to monitor and control your pit from anywhere. It also adds things like better burn patterns and the ability to configure your cooker to work with 3rd party temperature probes!! Totally changed my cooking experience on a pit I thought I knew.
If your in the market for a new smoker I highly recommend the GMG pellet grills to get that wood flavour without all the hassle of a offset smoker
Took a page out of @brassknucklesbbq hand book and smoked this ribeye @ 225 on the @greenmountaingrills until 125 internal temp, rested for 10 and then seared it on the @webergrills until medium perfect. I love me a sous vide and reverse seared steak but this flavour from the added smoke takes the cake! #yegfood#yeg
