In operation since the 1980s, the Bristol Marina is located in Bristol Harbour. Just a stones throw from the SS Great Britain it’s on the site of the former Charles Hill & Sons LTD’s Albion Dockyard.
Also located near here are the inner suburbs of Bristol. Hotwells and Clifton Down are home to these colourful houses and brighten up a walk along the Harbourside. They are situated directly to the north of the Floating Harbour.
@Regrann from @bbcearth - Flamingos in Lake Nakuru, Kenya. The lake's abundance of algae attracts vast numbers of flamingos. Other birds also flourish in the area, as do warthogs, baboons and other large mammals. Eastern black rhinos and southern white rhinos have also been introduced.
The lake's water level dropped dramatically in the early 1990s, but has since largely recovered. In 2013, the lake received an alarming increase in the water levels that led to the migration of flamingos to Lake Bogoria in search of food.

Sky puppies are the best puppies. The Spectacled Flying Fox (Pteropus conspicillatus), listed as Vulnerable under the EPBC Act in Australia. They are the centre of human bat conflicts in Far North Queensland. Because of a colony residing within Cairns and A few townships in the Atherton Tablelands they have caused many people to resent them. As their habitat continues to be degraded and removed they encroach onto urban landscapes and feed on farmlands. Even as their population declines every year due to disturbance and habitat lost both from land clearing and in urban landscapes due to human-bat conflicts, it is clear that many locals don't see this happening as they still believe they are "everywhere" and "diseased ridden rats of the sky". Although their smell and noise are unmistakable in Cairns and their role in the ecosystem as a keystone species for seed dispersal and pollination in absence of a strong Cassowary population is undoubtedly becoming more and more important. Education and a change in mindset is much needed to foster a positive relationship with these beautiful animals as our lives become more intertwined.
Catching the last of the winter sun. The Asiatic lion has unfortunately been declared the most endangered large cat species in the world. Asiatic lions are from India, where there are thought to be only 350 left in the wild. Bristol Zoo is home to two Asiatic lion brothers; Kamran and Ketan, who were both born on November 9th 2012. It’s great to see the zoo doing so much to help animals not only under its care, but in the wild as well through conservation projects.
So, as the “unromantic” (we have our own ways) couple @kaali25 and I are, we chose to sandboard with Muhammad in the sunset instead of enjoying it with a bottle of wine on a Aladdin magic carpet. 🥂🧞♂️🏂
A male Sword-billed hummingbird, one of the largest hummingbird species emerges from the cloud-forests of Ecuador. Sword-billed hummingbirds are unique in many ways, they are the only member in their genus, they are the only bird whose bill is longer than their body, and they have the longest tongue in comparison to their body size than any other animal.
Photographer @tony.bennett takes a look back at last year's #SonyKandoTrip 👉🏽 "My favorite trip last year, hands down, was Sony Kando Trip 1.0. Meeting so many long time Insta friends face-to-face and creating together for a few days was the obvious highlight, but it was also my first time visiting California. As I stood there on this Pacific Ocean beach, I was so in awe of the universe upon seeing the milky way aligned in a totally different direction than it did two thousand miles away back home in Michigan. It's the type of moment which really inspires you to explore so much more of this world we live in." | a7R II | 16-35mm f4 OSS @16 | ISO 5000 | 20 sec |

Photographer @posesawkwardly shares some tips on how to capture the sunset at the beach "I always try and keep ISO as low as possible when shooting landscapes, so as to achieve maximum dynamic range for editing. Also, if you want a smaller, more star-like sunburst, close down the aperture! I wanted to make sure the detail in the water was a prominent part of the photo, so I got low and waited for the foamy part to come all the way in." | a7R III | 16-35 GM | f/9 | ISO 200 | 1/160 sec |

I was there with 2 Sony cameras, a7R II & a6000 with a wide angle lens attached to one and a telephoto to the other to make sure not to waste any time changing lenses so and not to miss any moment.." | a6000 | Sony 55-210mm @ 55mm | f/8 | 1/1250 | ISO 500 |
