👌The subtlety of POWER STEERING (luring/targeting)
When utilizing hand manipulation to control a dog's movements your hand position largely influences where your dog's body lines up. Even a subtle tilt of the hand can produce significant body shift. You can use this to your advantage.
I like to think of the dog's head as a steering wheel and it's body as the vehicle. We can use power steering in our work as a means to create fast, dynamic and tight execution of exercises. It's a great application for fading exaggerated hand movements and also fantastic for targeting work whereby your hand becomes the target once the lure has been faded.
Watch the significant impact a discreet angle of my hand has on Fury. A great skill to add to your toolbox!
