I really never do stuff like this, but in honor of what would have been Bradley Nowell's 50th Birthday here is me playing Santeria. I made a bunch of mistakes and I'm sorry for the crappy quality!
Go check out our trailer for our new album “Smiling”! The link is:
Benoit Glazer (former conductor for Cirque de Soleil La Nouba and founder and chairman of the Timucua Arts Foundation) has written this wonderful and fitting introduction of our new album! “Vivacity
The concept is simple; take a young woman who is also a xylophone virtuoso, mix her with a crew of top notch jazz musicians, add a singer with a joyful, playful disposition, and have them put together a show reminiscent of the old radio variety shows, and you have Vivacity. The thing is, however simple the concept may be, nobody else is doing it.
Between the arrangements, the dresses, the high level playing (tight yet very much spontaneous) and the overall sound, the project sends you back in time to an era when art and entertainment lived side by side, in harmony. And in case you're wondering, this project was recorded live in our living room, without headphones, straight up, like the olden days. The equipment may be state of the art, but the method is old fashioned indeed, and the result is a more organic musical experience. No pasteurized, homogenized, or sterile sound here!
This is a class act, from top to bottom, and it was indeed a pleasure to record, even though the video aspect brought some challenges to the audio recording. I hope that you will have as much fun listening to it as I did recording it. And try to catch Vivacity live as often as you can, you will tap your toes all the way home”
Our CD release party will take place at the Timucua Arts White House on May 31- details to follow! In the meantime, please enjoy this short teaser of the music videos from the album:) #vivacity#music#smiling#jazz#earlyjazz#indiemusic#swing#swingmusic#1920s#1930s#1940s#xylophone#tuba#drumset#bass#saxophone#trumpet#piano#cd#newalbum#vintage#lindyhop#awesome#albumreleaseparty#savethedate#orlandoevents#centralflorida#thearts#musicians#greatsongs

Anyone knows of other famous composers/musicians who still has living descendents? Please let me know in the comments!
