I feel like winter is coming now to my city. Moreover in office, the ambiance is sooo cold lately. But fortunately, I have this Ultra Light Down Compact Jacket from @uniqloindonesia. It keeps my body warm. .
And do you know? This one is the newly updated ultra light down from Uniqlo, with lower collar and a special pouch for its storage bag. The last one, something that I like from all jackets that I have is hidden pocket and this one has it too! Yeah! ❤ #uniqlo#uniqloindonesia#compactjacket#ultralightdown
For some reason I noticed recently that there’s always one person who makes comments on videos saying things like ‘There’s probably a parent in the background yelling, “you will do this or else!”’ I came across one on a video of mine the other day and... I get it. It’s probably a joke. I’m Asian so my parents were probably super strict etc. But I’m especially triggered by this type of ignorance. There are people out there who were forced into music, and end up miserable doing it. What could be worse than having music ruined for you?
Let me tell you how I got into it...
I was three years old, watching my mom teach piano to my big brother. The story goes something like this — I get jealous of brother getting all the attention, I beg mom to teach me too, mom is reluctant at first (one is already enough, she said), I get my way and mom begins to teach me.
Few months later, I saw a poster with a violin, asked my parents what it was/ if I could have one too... must have gotten my way again 🤣Then mom figures out soon that I have some kind of talent, so I’m sent off to local piano and violin teachers, soon to start preparing for Juilliard prep audition. And that marks the beginning of my life in music.
My parents have only ever supported my happiness. No matter what that meant for them. I started music because I was drawn to it. I continued music because I fell in love with it. I understand a stereotype exists for a reason, and I’m sure there are lots of people who are forced into music, but can we have some faith in the other people who genuinely love their craft? Is it so hard to believe some of us actually enjoy what we do?
