Day 12.... I started off doing a yellow rose, halfway I decided actually I'll turn it into a #sunshine (as we're all desperate for some) but it looked a bit dodge, so, a #lion 🦁 😂 should have just carried on with the rose!
Days 50-52: The stitches are approaching the letters at the top. I added some pink stripes and started to fill them in. I’m excited to start to see the lettering become obvious. #1yearofstitches2018#1yearofstitches
DAY 418: DUBIOUS PARTS
Tick, tock... tick, tock... Time’s a wasting... life’s a passing... or at least that’s how it feels. How on earth did we get to the end of February already? Wherever did the new year go? I mean: really!!! I haven’t done nearly enough to warrant ownership of the gift given; haven’t, really, in regards to anything... progressed. A stitch here, a stitch there... that’s all. ⏲
Is it the same for you? Does the new year; do fresh beginnings (of weeks, of months...)... herald inexhaustible promise, unmatched excitement... and then, sort of, fritter out? This seems to be the case with my life in general, both now and then... and so: ergo, ditto: this year. Which means heaps more healing required... more forests traversed and mountains climbed. ⏱
In light of which... a boldly applied word: healing, and a shape that looks a bit like a kite. I’m unsure about all of this; half tempted to tear it all out... only I think the stitches are too tiny for such a mission to be accomplished and the thread too dark to render satisfactory elimination. So it’s suck it up, suffer in silence, make do... I’m hopeful, like with other dubious parts, time will be a healer; only there’s not much time left and we’re nearing the end of whatever this is. ⏰
Day 53: paper. The quilt I’m working on is foundation paper pieced. I’ve done fpp on a single block before, but a whole lap quilt with paper on the back gets heavy and unwieldy. I don’t think I’ll be making this pattern again. #1yearofstitches2018
