Thank you all for your kind comments, they mean so much. Know that I’ve read every single one even if I haven’t replied ❤️ It’s been a tough year but I’m getting through day by day
This morning I was surprised by 6 inches of snow! It was beautiful watching Lilly play, happy as can be. She’s 2 weeks post op now and doing great! ❄️

This one of the hardest post I’ve ever had to make. This may be a Berner devoted page but it was once my personal Instagram until I posted way more Berner photos than anything else, ha.
I got Lilly 6 years ago. My mom fell in love with Berners through Lilly and got Eiger 3 years ago. Although I’ve since moved out on my own, we still got together once or twice a week to let our Berners play.
On Tuesday morning, my mom committed suicide.
She left no note and didn’t say anything to anyone. She left behind my brothers and I and her husband of 26 years (my father). She also left behind her beloved baby boy, Eiger, who will be staying with either my father or me (has not yet been decided). Please, please, please. If you’re thinking of suicide, there’s help. Reach out, call loved ones or the suicide hotline. It doesn’t have to end this way.
My mom left behind a wake of destruction and trauma that will haunt my family forever.
I love you Mom, I truly hope you’re in peace 💔 -Beth (This is one of my favorite photos of her and 8 week old Eiger)
(Update from 2/6/17 but not much has changed)
Look who is smiling and wagging her tail! 😍
Lilly is making slow but good process in her recovery. She’s eating small amount of pure meat and baby food on her own. She’s still not drinking much so she gets a couple syringes of diluted broth or water a couple times a day to help keep her hydrated. But she’s off her feeding tube which is awesome!
Lilly is on a few medications and will be for a while. Some to help with the pain and inflammation, some to help her system relearn how to digest. She’s got a few vet appointments and tests ahead of her to make sure her system is working and to check for long term damage. She sleeps about 22 hours a day which is good, she deserves the rest and peace.
Lilly has a long recovery ahead of her but her future is looking bright!
I truly can’t thank everyone enough for saving her life ❤️❤️❤️ the first thing I’ll do when she’s recovered is take her to the beach and the mountains, her two favorite places!
Lilly’s face 😂 last night 3 month old Gulliver (@effieandgulliver) (whom I’m puppy sitting) tried to make Lilly feel better. He brought over a toy and laid down next to her to cuddle. Aww, it’s the thought that counts right?! Lilly is improving this morning! She ate a bowl of pure plain turkey chunks and broth, then drank water on her own for the first time in days!
She was even feeling good enough to fight me on her medications lol. She gets a few pills and a few syringes of medications a day for a while, this morning Lilly made that challenging and I couldn’t help but grin. My sassy girl is back 😍
Lilly is out of surgery and up and walking! 10 days ago she tore of bandages she was wearing after she had a small foot surgery (this was while wearing a cone! 😳). In the process she must have swallowed some of the bandage/gauze!! For 10 days it’s been stuck and she had little symptoms to let me know something was wrong! Lilly has had a lower than normal appetite but was still drinking/eating/pooping and not vomiting.
Thankfully after a long surgery, it seems she’s going to be just fine with no long term effects! As long as she eats today and keeps it down, she can come home tonight ❤️ A lot of you guys asked about pet insurance. I am a huge advocate of pet insurance but made the decision to cancel mine in December. It was up to $100 a month with a $1000 deductible. After two years of Lilly being relatively healthy, I decided to go ahead and cancel. Big mistake in this case!! 😔
I still don’t have a final total of cost but will likely not reopen donations unless she has complications. You guys have been absolutely incredible and I didn’t expect this to blow up so much!! Thank you from the bottom of my heart. Lilly has many more years left in her, she’s a fighter!
